Photos here in the US are either airbrushed or taken while his concealer is freshly applied.

Those are gin blossoms, and he's got another beaut just below his left cheek. They never go away, not even if the drinker has quit. Sometimes they appear even after a heavy drinker has quit.

They're just the visible signs of his alcohol history. The other signs are all neurological, and they're pretty bad, too.
