This morning I went to my boss and said what the fuck! & proceeded to tell him what I thought of his glorious pResident & what he has done to this Country! I was a tired of him praising the Commander in thief while I tried to do my work on the measly salary he paid me.

You know what he said to me? Will we see you tomorrow?

P.S. I just couldn't take it any longer & had to get that off my chest. I should also point out recently though the praises have been fewer & fewer.

2. To tell the Truth I have been afraid lately

For fear of losing my job. But enough was enough. I have been accused of wearing my sexuality on my sleeve, I though it was about time I did the same with politics.

While I applaud you letting this Pug where he should put his manchild, unless you're in a real secure situation, I'd avoid bringing politics (just like religion) into the workplace.

Hopefully you're a great asset to the company and they can't afford to lose you...but never assume. It mights have felt good telling this bastard off today, but he's still the key to your salary and possibly your next job or your career. A bad word now could pop up sometime down the road at the worst time. Even worse, is a good word that was contrued as bad that's lingered for a long time. I've seen that happen in my field...where the ass-kissers moved up the ladder no matter how inept they were (sometimes that's an asset)

I'd wait til I was knowing I was on my way out before I'd let loose. Right now all it adds is more angst...who needs that? At least I hope it shuts the moron up for a couple weeks. I'd also make sure the resume is updated and you're networking...

I congratulate freetobegay on his guts. And I think he had every right to say what he did. His boss brought politics into the workplace. If he fires him for defending his political views, I'd see a lawyer.

6. Is It Worth The Grief?

I learned there was no job that was worth lowering one's standards or having to put up with assholes...jobs come, jobs go and if you can't tolerate the workplace, get the hell out.

I've worked with conservative bosses. In the 80's, my boss was a big cheese in the local GOOP...it was Raygun everywhere during election times and, while the rhetoric wasn't anywhere as strident as today, I still had to endure his conveluted politics as a condition of my employ. At the time, I needed the job to support a very young family. I got my revenge in other ways...his operation today nowhere makes the money it did when I was there, and that's the worst thing that can happen to a Repugnican :evilgrin:

Problem in today's out-of-control corporate world is the worker holds precious little cards when it comes to boorish bosses. Letsay, freetobegay loses his job and sues...on what grounds? I'd venture to say that boss probably has a set of personnel files that are kept just for such occasions that may be true, may not (being late, messy desk, fight with another employee, etc.) that can tie things up in court for a long, long time. No one ever wins when you take your job or employer to court when you don't have another job/career.

I'd love to see freetobegay find a new job in a workplace where he feels free to work! Then blast this bastard everywhere and anywhere. This bastard doesn't deserve the work freetobegay does that this moron profits from, but until we rid all levels of government of politicians (mostly Repugnicans, but there are a good share of Democrats as well) who make the labor laws that currently allow corporations to conglomerate, downsize, consolidate, outsource and exploit.

this is the reason behind why officials critical of this misadministration wait until they are out the door until they come forward. In government or government related positions the political pressure is enormous and if you want to keep your job you zip your lip. I have to admire anyone who steps forward like freetobegay; I doubt I could have done it.

5. Fuck Them If They Can't Take A Joke

No one should live in fear of losing their pitiful, thankless, hellishly life-wasting dead-end jobs! Don't be intimidated into wage slavery. Life is too precious, and they don't deserve what they've already gotten. I abandoned my hateful rent-payer and started temping, which, along with the proper skill set, can get you some great gigs. The best stuff about it is that 1) I don't have to interview with the clients, I'm just assigned, 2) If I don't like anything about the job, I tell the agency and stop going, 3) If the client doesn't like me, they tell the agency and I don't go back. But, whereas being fired requires getting together a resume and looking for a new job, if you lose a gig, the agency just gives you a new one. Of course, the pay range depends on what you bring to the job as well as what's available in your market at the time, so this option isn't for everyone. But, it's worked great for me. Fuck being trapped in a bureaucratic labor-trap with loud-mouthed Republicans!

9. If you're really worried, I suggest

Go to your boss, say "I'm sorry about that outburst yesterday, it was totally inappropriate. But I also feel it's inappropriate for you to be praising chimpy all the time at work. Can we just agree to disagree, and not discuss politics anymore?"

You'll be seen as reasonable, and a gain in respect from your boss will follow.
