Bush didn't want to scare you!
Apparently, this is his accuse for biding his time with 2nd graders on 9/11:

http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/news/story.jsp?flok=FF-APO-1110&idq=/ff/story/0001%2F20040617%2F1142838588.htm&sc=1110

"When it became clear that the nation was under attack, Bush decided to continue his remarks to a classroom of second graders. ``The president told us his instinct was to project calm, not to have the country see an excited reaction at a moment of crisis.'' Fifty minutes later, he was on Air Force One as it climbed into the sky with no certain destination. The objective was to get into the air as fast as possible and decide where to go, the commission said. "

See, he was just projecting calm. That was calm on his face, NOT scared shitless :D Not to mention, with Moore's movie coming out, he's gotta put a fresh spin on it.

And I also remember earlier articles saying Bush immediately excused himself from the class and got to work when he heard about the 2nd plane. Does anyone have links to those?

3. Here the Booker School Video
http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/schoolvideo.html

And yes - this was in the timeframe of the "what will we tell the children" mode after Clinton's indescretion - and they thought it would work well again. Couldn't "scare" the children - although they had no problem showing the destruction 1,000 times on TV - in order to do exactly that. He was worried about THOSE few children when hundreds of children were losing their parents by HIS complete and total Inaction and non-response.

4. Yeah. 'Cause if I thought he was in control, I'd shit my pants.
I feel safer knowing the government can manage itself without his input.

I'm serious.

13. He probably did just that in the classroom
Mystery solved? Bush returns to the classroom wearing the grey jacket. Has he changed clothes and if so, why? Watch the film where Andy Card informs Bush that the second plane has hit the WTC. The grey of the classroom floor is evident, the grey of Bush's jacket is not. Even if we can pass this one off, there's still the questions of the clock...

6. This says a lot:
The president told us his instinct was to project calm, not to have the country see an excited reaction at a moment of crisis.''

See? He was concerned about IMAGE! He didn't think about saving lives. He didn't think about whether emergency responders were mobilized.

He was worried about PROJECTING AN IMAGE!

7. The excuse freepers give...
The first is he didn't want to scare the kids, and my response is after you are whispered in the ear that the second plane has hit can you not say to the kids I am sorry but I must leave to attend to presidential business? I don't believe that this would have scared the kids...

My other question is that if you know that the country is under attack, and that you might be a target, why do you continue to sit in a room that is full of school children?? He worries about boobies on TV, yet he wasn't even concerned that his presence might cause the death of those children in that school building??

9. Wouldn't the country WANT to see an excited reaction during a crisis?
If he had gotten out of his chair the moment he heard about the first plane, nobody would have gotten upset or nervous. How could they have gotten more nervous than we already were, when we just saw the first attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor live on TV? People want to see their President take action, not sit there doing nothing like a fucking jackass.

11. Such bullshit!!!
Let me see if I understand this, if Bush just sits there projecting calm and that's what we all see then we will all just calm down ourselves.

"Oh look, the President's chillin' so everything's cool."

Not only did he SIT THERE for so many minutes, afterword, he took time for a photo shoot before getting on the plane!

I kid you not. Check it out on Paul Thompson's timeline.

No wonder some of us internet wackos are a little MAD.

15. "a reading program that works"
that awkward, canned line has always bugged me.
Nothing specific , but it lends to the feeling aWol was just following orders that day.

"Now Sir, :dunce: just be sure to stick to the script we practiced during your vacation in Crawford last month. We'll take care of the rest"

16. Endangering those Booker kids by staying in classroom
I said this in another thread but: if I were a Booker parent or staffer I would have sued the WH for putting my child in mortal danger.

Remember that we supposedly didn't know what was going on out there at the time. Planes could be pointed at anything.
SS grabbed Uncle Dick and hand carried him to the bunker.
People were evacuated from WH, Pentagon, Sears tower and on and on.

Are we really supposed to believe the one place in the world NOT evacuated was where the PRESIDENT was?
Oh, bshit.:eyes:

The photo-opp would have been on a publicly available schedule. therefore, by his hanging tight in that classroom rather than evacuating everyone ASAP.
is reckless endangerment.

Where is the class-action suit? :grr:
