Homeland Security didn't save all of us from a fiery death at the maniacal hands of some swarthy foreigner? It was all just a political publicity stunt, meant to engender a false sense of security that Tom Ridge and his minions have the slightest clue about what they're doing*?

Say it ain't so!

*I will exclude for the purposes of that question the possibility that Homeland Security means to be squandering billions of dollars for no purpose other than to line the pockets of a bunch of government contractors. In which case, they are quite knowledgeable about what they're doing.
