Paul Johnson is a tragedy, however...
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 10:51 AM by tjwash
Is it not it a little strange how it is dominating the headlines, when stories like these are getting buried on back pages? Five million funneled to a swiss bank account while Dicky boy was CEO huh?

1. Yes, IMO...
the media, and the very least the mainstream media, should not facilitate terror in this way. It's no wonder it's so effective, and it only encourages similar acts.

2.  He's worked in Saud for 12 years and his familys in lives in New Jersy ?
Is that a way to say he was divorced ?

Either way it really is disappointing to hear this one guy's name again and again and see his picture and eleven thousand WAR casualities are kept off the books at the Pentagon.

7. You want a tragedy?
2800 children per DAY die in Africa due to malaria.

There are 13 MILLION children in Africa orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

As old Joe Stalin said, "One man's death is a tragedy. A million deaths are merely a statistic."

BushCorp will spend millions or billions to combat "terrorism" and justify it by showing pictures of one man's beheading. Yet by spending just one week's expense for the war on "terror" for health care in Africa could save thousands if not tens of thousands of lives.

I find that tragic.

3. Have you noticed
the righties like Hannity want to talk about that more than anyone? Don't they realize they are encouraging more of this? Then they want to talk about how lefties are hurting our troops by bringing up Abu Grabe etc. I just think we should focus on what WE are doing and not on what THEY are doing in the media. We already know the terrorists are barbarians, this kind of behavior is not unexpected from them, but we are supposed to be above this. Besides, we can't do anything about what they are going to do, we can only control what we are going to do.

4. How about the pentagon missing 2.3 TRILLION ...
When this story broke you could read about it on the internet but I don't recall one news agengcy giving it much time on TV. This should have been investigated and heads should have rolled...media and American public just let it slide.

Do a search on "Pentagon missing 2.3 Trillion" .... you'll be surprised only CBS has a link to it...all the others are like conspiracy sites.....INCREDIBLE WHEN CONSPIRACY SITES ARE MORE LEGITAMATE THAN OUR MAINSTREAM MEDIA.

5. The terrorists like this.
They like the US showing all their crap in the media. It encourages more people to do horrific acts of terrorism.

At least on CNN.com's homepage today has a story that Ken Lay will be getting indicted within the next two weeks.

6. USA Today reported Thursday Condolezza Rice's aid went to Abu Ghraib,
the next day it is all terrorism again and another beheading. How convenient is that?

8. As far as I am concerned...
this guy was an illegal combatant.

According to the US government, illegal combatants have no rights. Thus as an illegal combatant, this guy was fair game.
