I'm now convinced Josh Marshall's "bombshell" involves Plamegate

I've been thinking about this, and here's why I'm confident this is the case:

1) The buzz in D.C. is about pending indictments in Plamegate. We're talking high-level people in the Bush WH, folks. This is Watergate redux. You can be damn sure every journalist in D.C. wants to be the one to break the story of who's getting indicted and for what, Josh included.

2) There are clues in his post. He says he hasn't been able to share the "delectable tidbits" he usually does because he needs to keep it under wraps, for obvious reasons. If you look at his blog, what issue HASN'T he written about for the past few weeks? Plamegate. Also, he mentions the issue in the news "now" is Iraq, implying that some OTHER issue will be front and center soon.

(BTW, don't worry about the lack of stories on this in the mainstream media. This investigation has been conducted the way it should be, with no grand jury leaks that could compromise it.)

I expect this will break very soon.

No matter how the right wingers try to spin it, outing Plame was against the interest of the US. It was a crime. If Shrub tries to suppress the indictments, he will be in trouble-spooks have looong memories.

to this conclusion. Sources in the CIA and DOJ say indictments are pending. The story of Bush lawyering up had major significance that the media by and large missed.

3. I agree with you, this has always been the worse offense Bush

has committed in the WH, but I still think there's going to be the story regarding Cheney and Scalia coming out. I have a feeling this will be the first time in history a Supreme Court Justice is removed along with of course, the whole Bush circus leaving town.

then they may get the crooked federal judges in my state that have been hunting with scalia for the last several years. It's a good ole boys club in our federal judiciary and the usa is so wrapped up with 'em it is scary. 4. What I'm really concerned about....

Is that the bush sleaze team will be able to bury it, step around it, discredit it, spin it, and slide it under the table somehow.

Yes, I know the seriousness of the charges. Lying to congress and the American people is also MIGHTY SERIOUS!! But they've skated on all of it! Even if Cheney himself is indicted, I think the media will give him a free pass, and only a handful of DUers and Hill correspondents will give a flip.

This corrupt regime has EVERYONE in their pocket, OR they will threaten or "suicide" whoever isn't on board.

Formerly, I was really hopeful something would bring them down, but I don't think it's gonna happen anymore.

as grand jury investigations should be. Any leak would give the WH ammunition to discredit Fitzgerald.

There have been so many things that would've taken anyone else down. But after innoculating themselves with the Clinton witchunt and a bought and paid for media, the BFEE has been above the law for what seems forever. The one thing that keeps me positive is that ALL regimes eventually come crashing down, every last one of them.

... but when indictments get handed down, they're either sealed (in which case no one sees them) or they are not (and they are public, anyone can break that story).

Maybe it has something to do with Cheney's Energy Task Force. There's reason to believe that fat criminal was dividing up Iraq's oil fields in 2001!

18. Folks this is much much worse than Watergate

The outing of a high level undercover agent is a much more serious crime than what the Watergate burglars committed. If this is what it is purported to be and Bush/Cheney are named. It is game set and match for these hooligans. Hasta la vista - scumbags!
