Is that particular doomsday BS thing going to die now? Perhaps there might be more important things to work on. Inevitable things for which we have a known date in mind.

I think there's one coming in November.

1. Yeah!
I'm willing to bring a little gloom and doom to Shrubco! Get out and register people to vote! Make sure they go to the polls! Support not only Kerry but your local Democratic/progressive candidates as well! We can not only take back the White House but the Congress as well if we work hard!

2. I missed another "End of the World" prophecy?
I hadn't even heard of this one. I'm still waiting for the great computer collapse of 2000 that was going to transport us all back to living in caves and eating each other.

4. June 29th is my B'day. Maybe they had the wrong date.
I see a tidal wave headed for the White House due to all the global warming that's going on. Wouldn't that be ironic....

5. Why would anyone pick such an historically joyful day. . .
as June 19 -- "Juneteenth" -- as a day of destruction?

www.juneteenth.com/

From the site. . .

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery.

From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.

Today Juneteenth commemorates
African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week, and in some areas a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future. Its growing popularity signifies a level of maturity and dignity in America long over due. In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. Sensitized to the conditions and experiences of others, only then can we make significant and lasting improvements in our society.

6. racism?
Hey, the only one I know in *real life* that had some sort of 19th jitters this week is both "freeperish" and has a stunning sense of "white privilege" (that he unsuccessfully hides in polite company)

But, who knows? I have no idea what the deal was about June 19th as I avoided him and his "the 9-11 commission is a tool of the DNC!!!" pronouncements this week.
