Show Me State bans sexy billboards
KANSAS CITY, Missouri (AP) -- Show Me State is cracking down on bawdy billboards.

Gov. Bob Holden on Thursday signed a bill banning sexually suggestive billboards that promote strip clubs and other adult businesses. The ban applies within one mile of Missouri highways.

Some billboards in Missouri portray scantily clad women and read "Live Nude" or "Red Hot Nude."

"We have the right to drive the highways of this state without children being assaulted by these images," Holden said.

So it is OK to use sex to sell everything but SEX!

It's too bad because in small markets, billboards may be the only advertising venue. Only 1 out of 5 radio stations in town will take my business, the TV station won't accept my advertising, as well as the free county-wide advertising paper. At least the local newspaper will take my ads. A billboard would be nice, but they are super expensive, and require a long contract.

1. Las Vegas also banned sexy billboards
Or at least sexually-oreinted billboards used to advertise casinos (nudie bars can still advertise "live nude girls" though).

What are they gonna ban next? Bikinis at the beach? They're too revealing, aren't they? How about low-cut jeans or shirts? They gonna ban them too?

These RW fundies need to be stopped and stopped now. :grr:

4. It is a slippery slope
The same logic can applied to many different things - like you said, bikinis, low-cut jeans...

8. With test tube babies, that may not be far from the truth.
I can see it now - GOD wants you to have a child the natural way - in a test tube. 100% sin free.

9. One Word: Silhouettes
They will be replaced with buxom feminine silhouettes. They won't be "scantily clad"... because the viewer gets to use their OWN IMAGINATION as to whether the silhouetted figure has clothes or not.
