Red States Egging on the Terrorists

Bush gets most of his support in places that are unlikely targets for a terrorist attack. That's where he strikes heroic poses and says, "We'll fight to the death of the last New Yorker." I'm not saying that Crawford Texas isn't worth the powder to blow it up, but terrorists can't be bothered with it.

Rural places are very strongly behind the President. Go get 'em, Dubya, they say. Bush does not do as well in places likely to be hit by terrorists. If you live in the Oklahoma hills, you'd love to see Bush threaten nuclear war. But if you live in Los Angeles or Chicago, the possibility of retaliation tempers the strategies you endorse.

The people in every small town around here do drills and beg Shelby for more "biohazard trailers and supplies" because they're skeered.

I think they have indeed scared everyone everywhere into thinking they, too, could be a target. Remember the "mall attack" twarted in Ohio last week? Every town has a mall.

I'm not saying they're being logical, but I do think they feel like targets.

us and don't feel terrorism is a threat to us. New York, Chicago, L.A., San Francisco, ports, trains and planes, chem. factories and oil refineries I believe are higher on the list.

"Bring it on," and "We'll fight and duke it out to the death of the LAST WASHINGTONIAN" (as in WASHINGTON D.C. not as in WASHINGTON STATE) and that chickenshit asshole will fly out of harm's way and leave Washingtonians to deal with the consequences.
