2. Bush screening US for Mental health.....true or not?
I read that "all consumers" are to undergo psychiatric evaluation as part of a new "freedom" initiative to be announced in July. Is this rumor?

5. Veiled Categorizing
Is this perhaps another example of the way in which we are being labeled and categorized for future "evil" purposes ie; systematic elimination of certain persons??

We already have 2ml in prisons on non-violent offenses, now will start the 2nd process with the mental health issues??

Hmmm...just thinking out loud

10. I don't usually wear tinfoil hats
but this subject does get worse. After they diagnose someone as mentally ill, they want to force people to get implants of psychiatric medication or face institutionalization:

Revolutionary treatment or worse thing since the lobotomy
September 26, 2003

(Philadelphia) - Researchers said yesterday that they are prepared to seek FDA approval of a surgically implanted tablet that could deliver daily doses of psychiatric medication for as long as a year.

The implants might revolutionize treatment of chronic mental illnesses like schizophrenia, which now require patients to take daily cocktails of powerful medications.

For some, the implant of haloperidol, a powerful antipsychotic drug, promises to stop the destructive spirals of psychosis that occur when patients stop taking medication because of side effects, logistical barriers, or lapses in memory. But patients' rights advocates say that implants of psychiatric medication would give the state coercive power unmatched since the age of the lobotomy.

15. Follow the money: a friend of BushCo has a mental-examination company?
If that is the case, we will be examined very carefully and very expensively.

18. Headline may be "alarmist"
This is the only thing I find in the document. PP33:
The Commission concluded that the mental health service delivery system in the United States must be substantively transformed. In the transformed system: 1) Americans understand that mental health is essential to overall health; 2) mental health care is consumer and family-driven; 3) disparities in mental health services are eliminated; 4) early mental health screening, assessment, and referral to services are common practice; 5) excellent mental health services are delivered and research is accelerated; and 6) technology is used to access mental health care and information.

In creeping fascism I wouldn't expect anything more blatant. This is merely an extension of what is already in progress. Get everyone used to the idea of BEING UNDER CONSTANT SURVEILLANCE, for example. Parents watch their children via monitors and remote cameras. Children go to school where their activities are constantly monitored. The schools, by the way, are more like prisons now; fenced in, metal detectors, etc. More and more children are being "treated" for disorders that no one had even thought of a generation ago. ARE WE BETTER OFF? Or are we just more CONDITIONED to accept a completely artificial (corporate owned and sold back to you) social reality.

with nothing to substantiate it?

Terrific.

Fear from both sides now.

Just terrific.

But, I thank you for clearing that up.
