Sources to take with a grain of salt and/or wait for confirmation
from other sources before taking seriously...

A couple of threads are linking to a WorldNetDaily story that appears on FreeRepublic.

World Net Daily is a fringish rightwing site - that runs some very interesting - but nonverifiable stories that never get verified or resurface again. Probably one of the least reliable sources around - but one that is rather amusing to read given its conservative roots and its quick trigger to disparage the administration.

Consider this thread an opinion-based (from DUers) list (to be constructed by those who chose to add on) of sources of somewhat dubious reputation. Sources from which it is wise to try to find another sourc that is not based on the original story - before believing the story/item and passing it on as "real" (ex the capitol hill blue story re: bush being unstable got picked up by many places - but each story looped directly back to the capitol hill blue story... thus can't count as outside verification.)

Others to be added to the list? Can't recall the name but there is another wingnut source that has a title that sounds like a newspaper, but is some guy who is tied to the editorial board of the MoonieTimes who runs a website at home. Runs outlandish stuff that is never verified - anyone remember the name of that source?

2. NEWSMAX is another with dubious reporting
with some real stories (though those are generally linked to other stories) mixed in.

3. Sierra Times Yet Another Such
Sierra Times is another right-wing extremist website. While I think it's less than reliable than Pravda was during Stalin's time about reporting real-life events, it does provide progressives with heads-up on the latest right-wing intellectual and political fads.

5. There's a few dubious ones.
FrontPage Mag...is run by former Commie-turned neo-CON David Horowitz, and is fully fuinded by r/w Coors and Bradley Foundations.

Anything from CATO Inst. is suspect since they have an agenda prerequisite before any research is done. No research that has a government solution gets released by them, even if they did the study.

Townhall-another knuckle-dragging r/w hack site. They feature Ann Coulter's weekly chicken scratch (column).
