Discount Drugs of Canada has locations in Lakeland and Haines City. Discount Medicine of Canada has locations in Lakeland and Winter Haven.
These companies provide clients with price quotes, fill out the necessary paperwork and handle any additional clerical work needed to send prescriptions to licensed pharmacists in Canada. Though drugs are never stored in these facilities, the DOH's orders were filed because, according to the orders, these companies facilitate unlicensed pharmacy activities....."

SNIP.."Two local Canadian prescription services kept their doors open Monday, in spite of an order from the state Department of Health on Friday that they immediately stop conducting business.
"We're business as usual today," said Melinda Liddy, who operates Discount Medicine of Canada with stores in Lakeland and Winter Haven.
"Most of our customers are concerned about getting their orders in before the store might close," she said. "They don't think the state of Florida should tell them who they can order from and who they can't order from. They want freedom of choice."END SNIP
There is a lot of anger here about this. Our area of Central Florida has retirees from all over the north. They are not responding well to this.
