OH man! Just heard Reps Chris Bell and John Culbertson on KPFT...
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 02:57 PM by Richardo
Bell was on to talk about his ethics complaint against Tom DeLay.

Culbertson (R of course, and a DeLay homunculus) calls in and IMMEDIATELY goes into "kill the messenger" mode. Trying to impugn Bell's motives, saying he waited until he lost his seat before he filed, was politically motivated, EVERYTHING EXCEPT talking about the merits of the complaints. (Who's surprised?)

He could not utter a single sentence without the words "sad" and "pathetic" in it - referring to Bell's timing and motivations.
When asked repeatedly by Bell and the host to respond to the counts cited in the complaint, all he could say was "Delay denied it" "Already been looked into." "Outrageous" "Politcally motivated". Then he and Bell got into a huge cross-talk argument about who was talking over whom. Needless to say, they were both talking at the same time. :eyes:

Man those guys are frantic - it was a panicky and weak attack even by RW standards.

I'd say there must be something to it...

The ethics complaint can be read at Rep Bell's website: www.house.gov/bell

1. Heheheh, I heard it too
Culbertson sounded like a wounded dog, whine, whine, whine, while Bell brought out the reason that he did not come out with an immediate charge because it takes time to check the facts. This should be interesting to watch, as the ethics committee is truly bi-partisan, i.e., five democrats and five republicans.

Go, Chris!

2. Culbertson, on KTRH about six months ago
after he failed to stop Houston MetroRail from passing, said (to the effect), "Well, now that the will of the voters has said they want rail, we have to find the money. The federal government is broke."

Those wimpy dj's on KTRH let it pass! Not even a medium-hardball to Culbertson on that. And, of course, KTRH is a Clear Channel station.

Culbertson will tow the party line. They all know DeLay is crooked.

Go Chris Bell! Nail the BugMan. We can all help out by sending money to DeLay's opponent, Richard Morrison.

3. 'All-news' KTRH plays Hannity at 2PM - but who cares about objectivity?
...or even the appearance thereof? </sarcasm>

When that program showed up in the middle of the day I knew that ClearChannelBorg, Inc had fully assimilated commercial radio in Houston.

Especially since that dropout dumbshit already has a spot on ANOTHER hate-radio station in town.

Houston: So RW we get TWO Hannitys a day. :eyes:

4. Ticked me off when Culberson referred to Bell as a 'loser'..
Pitiful. Especially after starting off complaining that Bell was bad for calling DeLay the most corrupt politician.. Isn't saying "why should we listen to a loser like Bell" just as bad?

Doesn't help that I WAS in Bell's district and now I will be in Culberson's. What a pig. :puke:
