Something DEEP is going on in the Senate right now

I caught it in action, and a lot of it is subtle, so this is going to be hard to explain.

There was some weird differences between the Democrats and Republicans over an amendment...possibly an amendment to an amendment.

Warner cried foul and the rest of the GOP went off-stage to plot.

Reid pulls the amendment out of friendship to Warner, but it is also made clear that another Democrat may introduce it during the proper time.

Kennedy gets up and starts in slow, but then moves into praising Reid's amendment and punking on Bush for not being forthright to the Senate.

...as per the documents that the Senate requested from the Administration, only 3 out of 23 (?) were turned over from the white house.

I think it was Leahy who got up and helped Kennedy continue on for a bit.

The Democrats are threatening to do something, but damned if I can figure it out from where I came in.

I heard on NPR about the amendment for allowing press to display flag draped coffins of people that are not named Ronald Reagan.

5. I think whats happening

is that John Kerry was coming in today to vote on a veterans' bill, and the Republicans moved it back and basically went "Nyah, nyah, John Kerry misses senate votes." Very childish, but I don't know why I'm surprised.
