I tend to look at any NBC affiliate, sometimes CBS. Other than that, mostly local and national newspapers and from time to time whatever the BBC is saying about things over here.

That recent poll shows that Democrats watch it, simply because its the least right-wing of the cable news networks (MSNBC and FOX are even further right, but all three are certainly Bush toe-lickers).

I do watch CNN sometimes (I live in Canada, therefore no FOX or MSNBC for me), but mainly CTV, CBC, CBS--for television--and the rest from newspapers, magazines, and internet. Yeah, I'm a news buff.

THIS is how such "triangulation" usually goes:

FAUX: Unabashed Bushevik Ultra-Rigtist Pravda. Lies, half-truths, misinformation, disinformation, false emphasis and every other PR trick I don't know about practiced there. Fact-checking non-existant, only for blatant libel issues.

CNN: Unabashed Bushevik Right-Wing Pravda with occasional semi-truthful reporting, which is properly de-emphasized when it contradicts Imperial Lies. Lies, half-truths, misinformation, disinformation, false emphasis and every other PR trick I don't know about practiced there, Bushevik Psyops and Mockingbirds throughout. Fact-checking lazy and poor, frequently incorrect or half-correct.

In conclusion, if a Total Liberal Propaganda Network was Rated 1 and faux rated 10, CNN would be a 7. So that the Imperial Subjects of Amerika, who have been foolishly conditioned to the "Liberal Media" lie, assume that they are getting a '1' and a '10' when watching CNN and Faux respectively. Therefore, what's in between is naturally the Moderate View.

This could not be further from the truth. At CNN=7 and Faux=10, the actual average of what these people are watching is 8.5...and that's just to the left of Albert Speer (Google the name if you wish to know whom I am speaking of).

23. since I travel continuously, I do check headlines only on CNN

as well as scan as many newspapers during the day for the latest eruptions, bulletins, this I do at all newsstands and even trying to inconspicuously read over the shoulders or at the shoulders of people on mass transit. If I happen upon an internet access (that is free) I always jump on LBN here at the DU, to check the source and get the details. By the way, welcome on board! :hi: If I am lucky enough to be at home, I can do more research on my own computer. I do enjoy Cspan on TV.

People here seem to pick up on everything, and there are links to all sorts of news sources from all over the world, which can in turn, be read further for even more news.

As far as television news goes, the only program that's really worth anything is The Daily Show with John Stewart. The only problem with that show is that it's too short, and is not comprehensive.

CNN has become little more than a propoganda mouthpiece for the Republican party, and a source of entertainment news. If your main news interest is in celebrity gossip, or sensational trials, it's probably an acceptable outlet. Otherwise, it's pretty much crap. I can't even watch it anymore.

Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC at 8pm eastern time.

He's one of the good guys. Even though he's on MSRNC, he can be trusted to be unbiased and tell the truth.

I also like to watch some of the debate shows to hear what both sides are saying about the issues (Crossfire on CNN, Chris Matthews show on Sunday mornings, etc).
