Anyone heard of ACT-Ohio?
I'm trying to find some information. ACT-Ohio apparently has people going door to door in Ohio with anti-Bush* messages on Palm Pilots. lol I just got hit up with a questionnaire but the guy who was doing the survey didn't know much about the organization except that it might be affiliated in some way with MoveOn. Anyone know more about it?

Soros has given them cash. Wellstone Action trains ACT workers.

4. Ok, I found their website.
So the people doing the surveys are paid? Are they really affiliated with MoveOn?

5. I'm not sure that they're paid
Maybe the survey people are but ACT is utilizing the talents of local grassroots people to get the word out. They condudct canvasses using volunteers.

6. I just stopped one of their volunteers
in the middle of the street to get a phone number. I'd like to know more about it locally. There's nothing listed on their website for this area.

7. I volunteer for ACT in NC
doing voter registration. We are not paid and very grassroots, but NC is not considered a swing state. Maybe they are paying people in battleground states. I originally heard about ACT from an email I received from MoveOn.

8. Where in Ohio?
I don't know that much about ACT-Ohio, but I do know they have been going door-to-door in Columbus and they pay people to collect voter information.

I don't know his official title, but Chris Glaros is one of their field organizers. If you want to contact him for more information: CGlaros@act4victory.org

11. They're here....
Martins Ferry, OH, right across the river from Wheeling WV. The OH side typically votes Democratic (we're talking about "WalMart Dems" that don't pay much attention to the primaries) but the WV counties nearby went to Bush in 2000. It's a good place for this organization to be active.

10. I found out....
That there are a few paid employees, a few volunteers. The local steelworker's union donates space for them to meet. I really got a kick out of the anti-* commercials on the palm pilots. :D
