My letter to the editor was printed in my local paper today.

Speak against president

People on the right who are constantly saying we must not speak against the president have a serious case of amnesia.

I recall eight years of continuous speaking against our president. I also remember an investigation lasting more than seven years and costing over $70 million in wasted tax dollars for a blue dress.

This administration is the most dishonest and secretive administration in our history.

One of this president's first acts in office was an executive order dismantling the Presidential Records Act (although presidents cannot overturn laws with executive orders).

They have lied to send our troops to kill and be killed.

They have covered up the many policy payoffs to their largest contributor.

They have refused to comply with court or congressional orders to release information.

This administration has even leaked the name of an undercover CIA operative - a crime that, as George H.W. Bush said, would make them "the most insidious of traitors."

People who say we should not speak out against this president should remember this: In America, speaking out is not just a right. It is a responsibility.

They did not cut or change much at all.

I sent it in almost 2 weeks ago. Usually if they don't print in within a week they never do.

9. Hate mail

This is Goddess40's mom. I have written several letters to the editor and only received one negative response. I got a letter with several newspaper articles with highlighted sentences that supposedly refuted my letter. There was also a note telling me to get my facts straight. Of course, it was unsigned. I have received far more positive comments. Just the other day someone told me her husband was a fan of mine due to the letters. Then we had a good discussion about how bad Bush is. At a family reunion (and most of them are religious conservatives) one of them thanked me for the letters. Also got a couple of positive phone calls. This is very gratifying to me as I live in a very conservative area.
