I suppose it would be mean-spirited to write him and ask exactly how many copies he sold of HIS book, how long it wasn't on the best-seller list, etcetera.

The right wing is in freefall. First Michael Moore commandeers the movie industry (and forces them to show a documentary at the neighborhood multiplex, God forbid,) now Bill Clinton is on every channel, at every bookstore, and pre-sold 1.4 million copies of his book besides.

don't think 1,000,000 copies pre-ordered really constitutes slow sales - one book store reported that people were buying them out of the box, store didn't have a chance to put them on the shelves. He also said that he's only seen this happen with Harry Potter books...

This phenomenon is closely related to the "Freeping" of F911 - none of these people seem to get the old adage that "no publicity is bad publicity." The Freepers have nearly guaranteed that F911 is going to break tons of box office records. Meanwhile, Drudge is promoting Clinton non-stop, even by attacking him. The whole "BBC Blowup" thing is another example.
