Many of these freepers seem disinclined to protest/disrupt screenings of "Fahrenheit 9/11" ... they seem to feel ignoring it will let it die a quiet death, rather than get more tickets sold.

While it would probably HAVE sold more tickets, I'll enjoy seeing the movie in peace.

There is no what that it will open #1 when it is in like 1/4 the number of theatres than the big blockbusters like Harry potter and others. It will do 10 million and blow any other documentary out of the water. I think the biggest suprise is that it will actually make more money the 2nd week as movie theatres see how popular(and profitable) Moore's movie is.

I will bet 20 bucks to anyone here that the top news story on Fox News on Monday will be that F9/11 ONLY made $10 million and wasn't #1. They will call it a disappointment and failure of the "liberal media". I proclaim that here and take all who want to challenge me.

I read the entire thread and I noticed that there are very strong animosity against this a12. Is he that bad? That is my question. I know, I may sound too naive; but politeness is part of my nature. ( I am a Japanese woman married to American guy.) I also have a baby girl. a12 's sentiment is very extreme; at the same time, it seems real.

I read some freeper's thread whenever DU pasted with special interest. They are typically rather aweful. However, some of sentiments on this thread seems a bit too close to freeper level sentiment.

78. The reason is many of us get quite annoyed or even angry with

those who would come onto this board and insult Democrats. If you have participated on other boards where there is "free internet debate" with liberals and conservatives there is usually a lot of hate and anger, and many like me spend time on a board like this to get away from all that.

So it angers me when people take the trouble to pose as a Democrat just to make trouble on a board like this. As much as I think the freepers are bozos, I think they would be justified in being upset with those of us who go over there to post things against their heroes, since they've made it clear that their forum is not truly "open".

I think it has to do with the fact that they won't take the chance of getting arrested for causing a disturbance on private property.

You see the theaters are on private property, and if they create a disturbance, or get into people's faces, they might get arrested.

Here in Tucson, 2 of the 3 theaters that F9/11 is being shown at are in malls, with security guards, and malls are private property.

So my take is that it's fear that will keep them from bothering those that want to see it.

The Freepers are sort of like the SBC, lot of conviction, but little courage.
