Plame/Bush speculation thread ... what did they ask?

WH says they met for 70 minutes.

There had to be a lot of questions.

Did Fitzgerald spend the time querying about what Bush knew of the actions of his immediate underlings? Did he ask him whether and, if so, how he learned of Plame's identity?

4. Fitzgerald is not asking

if bush had knowledge of the Plame outting before it happened. He was asked specifically about discussions he is believed to have listened to, involving Rove and Cheney, in which a strategy for a "cover up" was discussed. As in so many cases similar to this, the participating in an organized cover up involves more people committing more crimes than the original crime. We are now three weeks from the shit hitting the fan, folks. Sit back and enjoy it.

14. I've been saying

that this would take cheney out of the running in mid-July since around January. Maybe six weeks ago, I suggested that DUers buy a great bottle of wine or perhaps some very good beer, and have it chilled to the proper temperature by July 13th at midnight. Cheese & crackers, shrimp, whatever you enjoy.

I will say this: there are certain forces that you do not mess with. It doesn't matter who you are -- or think you are -- there are some forces that when you cross them .... you just got to pay your dues. Cheney, Rove -- and a few of their underlings -- are going to learn that the hard way. "Tighten your seat belts, boys, you're ride on the Plame case is about to begin!"

The interrogator strips the interviewee naked and then rapes them with a a flashlight while someone puts panties on their head and takes photos....oh wait...sorry that's Rumsfeldian interrogation...

I bet Fitz gave the President the chance to tell the truth. Then confronting them with evidence asked specific pointed questions to indeed see to what depth other conversations are corroborated. If CHimpy was flatly denying it would not of lasted 70 minutes. Chimpy sang knowing his ass is now directly on the line. He may even be pissed at Karl for allowing him to be put in this situation. Where he has to either:

1. Trust KKKarl completly and stick to the story and risk falling REALLY hard before election.

2. Sing and save his ass and hadle the heat of the failure of his advisors. (really only hope of even a slim chance in election)

3. Threaten the investigator. (I highly doubt this will happen)

either way....his re-election is in dire straights. He needs to now focus on staying out of jail....

Indictments are coming make no question about that. They will happen before the election and will happen very soon.

I suspect Fitzgearld already has the who and when and part of the interview was informing the President as to what was going down and how he was going to be part. IN addition to determining if Bush was part of the coverup. I suspect as well that no one below Bush would implicate him in having knowlege but he may end up being part of the subsequent coverup by remaining silent until now.


Oh how I would of loved to been a fly on the wall.....

Does Fitzgerald's Honor and Sense of Duty to Country outweigh his Fear of Character Assassination (with just the slightest hint of danger of perhaps a real one?) and Other Imperial Reprisals?

We'll find out. Fitzgerald has a sterling reputation, but I have seen others with sterling reputations cower at the first sign of displeasure from the Imperial Family.

Time will tell, ONLY time will tell.
