CNN reports that that President Bush seems "miffed" and "a tad jealous" over all the attention focused on Arnold Schwarzenegger and the California recall election. The president is in the midst of a 29-day (!) vacation in Texas (though today he's in California for, yes, a fund-raiser). But whether he spends his latest multi-week vacation clearing brush or shilling for cash, the president is followed by reporters. When one of them described California as the "biggest political story in the country," Bush seized on the phrase and, as CNN says, "he just couldn't let it go."

Bush: "It is the biggest political story in the country? That's interesting. That says a lot. That speaks volumes."

The surprised reporter asked if Bush disagreed California was a big story.

"I don't get to decide the biggest political story," Bush replied. "You decide the biggest political story. But I find it interesting that that is the biggest political story in the country, as you just said."

Pressed further, Bush said, "Oh, I think there's maybe other political stories. Isn't there, like, a presidential race coming up?"

What a little twit. We have a Presidential election every 4 years, but California has never had a recall and he thinks an election NEXT YEAR is more important. Is he even aware of how important California's economy is to this country? A responsible President would have been trying to work to avoid this.

He thinks he's playing Monopoly, states are just properties to be bought and sold, just tokens on a game board.

...what a prissy lil bitch. As everyone keeps reminding US, the nomination process doesn't even begin for several months. What's he going on about? Does he want the press to fawn over how he rolls around naked in crude oil so more maximum contribution checks can stick to him from energy companies, friends and family? Does he want us to talk about him going to bat for the Saudi funders of terror all the damned time instead? I'd sure prefer that. Or maybe we could talk about how this whole stupid recall circus is his doing because that little bitch was jealous that CA had the "New Economy", and he wanted to have his energy cronies starve CA IT (5th largest economy in the world) so they'd move to TX and Pennsylvania? Or perhaps he'd like us to resume discussing how he's a lying friggin bastard who should be taken out to Odday's woodshed (or is it Qusay, who the hell knows, eh?). Would he like to answer the question, "When, Mr. Bush, will YOU be 'brought to justice'?"

He acts as if his own staff and advisors have had nothing.. NOTHING.. to do with the recall. Either its a ruse to distance his own staff and advisors from the whole affair or, less likely, he is genuinely unaware of their involvement 'behind the scenes.'
