Dear MoveOn Member,
Today is the big day: Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 opens in 868 theaters nationwide.
Thank you for signing up and far exceeding our goal of 100,000 pledges to see the film opening weekend. Packing the house will encourage more theaters to show the movie, so more Americans can see the film's thought-provoking exposé of Bush's war policy.
A few things for your check list:
1. In case you are approached by a reporter: Because of the controversy surrounding the film, the premiere may draw some press attention. Here are a few talking points in case you're interviewed by a reporter. The most important thing is to speak from your heart, and remember to identify yourself as a member of MoveOn PAC.
-- I'm here because this is the movie Republican leaders and the White House don't want America to see. It exposes the Bush administration's track record of deception.
-- I support this movie because we know it's been a struggle to get it in the theaters and I support free speech. This is a deeply patriotic movie. It expresses great concern for our troops in Iraq and their families.
-- This movie is just the beginning. I'll be going to a MoveOn PAC house party on Monday night to talk about the film and how we're going to defeat Bush in November.
2. Don't forget to wear blue! This will help MoveOn members find each other and will help us gauge how many people in the audience are there because of MoveOn PAC.
3. Bring flyers when you go to the theater. Many moviegoers will be walking out of the theater all fired up, but they may not have clear ideas about how to direct their passion. We need those people to join our efforts to win back the White House! We’ve made flyers that invite people to our house parties on Monday night with Michael Moore. Please download the flyer and make copies to bring with you when you go see the film, then hand them out afterwards. Just go to:

4. Sign up to attend a Monday night house party with Michael Moore. Hear Michael Moore on our national online conference call and ask him questions, join a community discussion about the film, and find out what you can do to unseat Bush in November. To find a MoveOn house party near you, go to:

Note: In several cities we have set up community meetings instead of house parties (and you'll still get to hear Michael Moore). If you live near Cleveland, Columbus, Des Moines, Las Vegas, Miami, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland (Oregon), St. Louis, or Tampa, scroll down to see the details for the meeting near you.
See you at the movies!
Sincerely,

My questions:
Anyone interviewed yet?
Who's wearing blue? Is that a lame suggestion?
Anyone handing out fliers?
Who's going to a house party?
