We didn't start this. Y'all did. I wasn't even posting yesterday afternoon when most of the Southern-bashing was posted. I was away from the computer at that time.

Some points to observe about the North:

1. The surface of Lake Erie actually caught fire in 1969 because there was so much pollution in the lake. This event in a northern area contributed to the impetus for Nixon signing the EPA into existence.

2. Residents of South Boston rioted against busing that would have brought children from Roxbury into their area. The last I checked, Boston is located in a New England state, Massachusetts.

3. Large sections of the downtown areas of cities such as Cleveland and Detroit are busted out and abandoned. To its credit, the Big Apple has remained a vital city. However, many other northern cities are full of crackhouses, gangs, and murders.

4. Although riots didn't happen during this latest blackout, the great northern blackout of 1977 provoked widespread looting and civil disturbance.

5. Boston drivers are known as the rudest in the country.

6. Northerners are the ones who have been making the 'attack' posts vs. the South. This post is merely an effort to counterbalance.

7. Northerners have an arrogant, bossy high-minded attitude toward the South. This is the case even when the target Southerners are liberals or moderates, and are not a part of the "Ray-gun revolution."

do not know state, regional nor even national boundaries.

Time to realize NORTH and SOUTH are concepts manipulated by pollsters.

This post is ONE counter-post to NUMEROUS South-bashing posts with large numbers of replies that appeared yesterday at a time when major news regarding the blackout in the North was occurring. There was NO major news in the Southeast yesterday, except for the shootings in the BORDER state of West Virginia.

I am about ready to leave this board because of the arrogant ignorance coming out of certain NORTHERNERS on this board.

That's why I posted that the only difference is that the weather cooler up North than the South.
