2. All shows here in Silicon Valley sold out

and I believe they added the special midnight showing (6 hours ago).
That's the one I got tickets to, and it was sold out as well, and
there was a long line... I heard that tomorrow is sold out as well,
but that's just rumor from folks in line.

My guess is that this will be one of the biggest weekends of the
summer movie season... especially when the number of screens is
factored in. Probably won't be number one more than just this
weekend, as a Spider comes creeping along next Friday. And I don't
know what kind of "legs" this will have. My guess is not that much,
as most of the faithful will attempt to go before heading back to
the classroom or office and comparing notes with others. But ya
never know.

Total gross of $50M or more would not surprise me... and that's
domestic. I could be waaay off here, and it could be $80 M or more.

3. HSX says
http://movies.hsx.com/

The Hollywood Stock Exchange is a game where people buy "stocks" in movies, movie stars, etc. It's proven to be a fairly good estimate of how well movies will do.

The weekend Option on F9/11 indicates people there think it's going to pull in around 19 million this weekend. The combination of controversial issues, political hyperbole, the generally stronger summer market and an inexplicably week new movie lineup this weekend makes F9/11 a strong prospect, despite it being a documentary. That would be mediocre to good for a summer movie, but phenominal for a documentary in summer.

We'll know for sure Monday.
