Altered Statesman - Unsolved History on The Discovery Channel
8/16 Unsolved History on The Discovery Channel - Altered Statesman

Boy! Call me naïve, but what a piece of revisionist history that was just aired on the Discovery Channel. "Altered Statesman" a documentary covering President Kennedy's drug use was produced by Simon Lloyd, directed by Helen Veal(Beale?) and narrated by Daniel Martinez.
John Kennedy was presented as :
1. A hydrocortisone addict with unsupervised intake (understandable due to his Addison's,
2. An amphetamine addict supplied by Dr. Max Jacobsen, and
3. As suffering from chronic venereal disease from his teenage years onward.

The Cuban Missile Crisis was blamed on his increasing risk taking behavior caused by his unchecked amphetamine and hydrocortisone abuse. Robert (Bob) Baker flat out stated that, "Nikita Kruschev saved the world from the fate of nuclear war." :wtf:

Unless I am just absolutely iganunt and incorrect this was one of the worst propaganda jobs of Revisionist History presented to date. Gawd, the next thing you know, we'll all be asked to believe that Richard Nixon was the sole POTUS to ever faithfully uphold The Constitution and Rule of Law. :puke:

It is certainly comforting to know that the deregulation of the FCC rules on media ownership have had no effect on material that is presented.

If you would truly like to experience a healthy dose of gob-shyte, check this out when it airs in your market. :nuke:

1. Bush Sr took Halcyon
during his term according to reports at the time to help him sleep. I am sure that is an anti-psychotic and makes you really wonder.

3. Dunno
That's why I ref'd the producer and director.
I checked the Discovery Channel website and there wasn't any information other than an airtime (surprise!). Maybe the oracular provenance for this stunning bit of research will be posted at a later date. Check it out when it airs, - your jaw will get a good workout from continuous dropping and reflex gnashing.

4. Right now the History Channel is showing
something on Echelon, and how it's such a good thing in Battling Terrorism. Without it we never would have intercepted such conversations as the one Colon Bowel presented to the UN (mis-translated to suit the occasion).

Big surprise History Channel is 50% owned by News Corporation (Rupert Murdoch)

5. The only history worth watching on the History Channel
are old documenteries.
"Victory at Sea" is a classic.

6. History Channel
has some great stuff ...providing one has a good mental spin filter going.

It's also a good barometer of public opinion (or what they'd like public opinion to be). When it's time to try & drum up support for the "war" they'll air some "horrors of Saddam" show and run commercials for it every 5 minutes all day with plenty of sound bites people will remember, whether they watch the show or not.
