Now that F9/11 is a Success (Bx Of Open) does anyone "smell" anything?
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 05:02 PM by KoKo01
It opened to such huge numbers that "Variety" the bible of the Media is swooning for such high numbers for a "documentary."

But, now I'm smelling something in some of the posts here...a flavor of "mild dissention" which seems to be drifting from somewhere.

For us to have something "joyful" to celebrate is defintely going to attract attention from other folks. We know they move here when they need to interfere and silently turn the subject to other things if digs here and there to Moore don't work.

It's amazing that all the wonderful personal observations about experiences we here have had had viewing the film will create a "backlash," but some folks don't like celebration on the Left. Shouldn't we be aware that some of the backlash won't just be overwhelmed or contentious DU'ers but those who bring ..a waft of odor?

1. I wouldn't worry too much.
I haven't found anyone pointing out any specific factual errors or misrepresentations...and I've looked at all the reviews that I see. So, all the haters can resort to is generalized "pack of lies" statements, personal attacks on Moore, and personal attacks on those who've seen it or are going to see it. Just challenge them to point out a single lie.

I'll be most interested since I'm not really a fan of Moore.

5. The stinkers seem to be trying the "subtle" approach these days....
I just ignore them, figuring what they want is to monoplize our energy
arguing with them. But lots of other DUers seem to snap at the bait.

8. I can't wait for the "great unveiling"
when all the freeper "moles" on DU pull off their masks and we are supposed to be devastated at how they've used and abused us! :P

9. What is the "great unveiling"?
I've seen this mentioned a few times and I'm a little confused. Is this just a theory that on election day all of the moles are going to out themselves? Or has somebody said that something like this was planned?

11. Some "long time, well respected DU'ers" will suddenly reveal themselves
as Freeps who were "moles," if Bush wins. They've been taunting us with this for a few months. Hoping to stir up dissention against regular posters wondering who the "mole" is.

But, they are very subtle, and I don't doubt that some have been with us. I've never gotten paranoid over it, though. But, think that it's always good to be watchful and wary. Even though innocent folks are accused of this, from to time...it's good to be kind to everyone...until the "odor" starts to waft...and it get's stronger. It ususally does with them. there are certain posts where they can't refrain from showing their true colors...but then mask it by coming back with a post that sucks us in.

I think everyone here, can learn from being here...so don't get me wrong, not starting some Mafia Police thing here looking for Freeps under beds...just it seems that there's an odor..

13. Weird, do they really think they're fooling anyone?
I frequently notice certain 1000+ posters who are obvious freepers. I didn't know that they had announced their intention to reveal themselves if Bush wins! Their ridiculous self-importance is actually kind of funny. How did they announce this? On FR? Anyway, I guess it's all a moot point if it's contingent on a Bush win. Guess there won't be a "great unveilng" after all!

19. Several DU'ers posted that Feeps were claiming they come hear by
signing up and going into the Lounge making some friends and then they move up on by posting in the Forums til they get over a thousand posts and then they are trusted.

But, the post was geared to folks who have been over on DU a long time like CIA Moles where they embedded themselves early and have been pretending and they will suddenly reveal themselves like "Clark Kent changing in the Phone Booth (lol's no phone booths, anymore) but they would expose themselves after next election.

IMHO...they've been with us...and even I who've been here a long time know who they are..some folks have accused me of freeping early on..so it only servers to hurt us by them saying this.

If our voices can't stand alone for truth without worrying about moles and trolls then what we are saying is suspect. Since I know what we are saying is the truth..then I think we give some room...

Just saying there's always a "strong smell" and it's worth it to be cautious whenever we on the Left achieve a small degree of success like with Farenheit9/11, because they always show up when things are looking "up" for us and leave when they think they've done damage..

12. Who cares if the freepers lurk?
Maybe if they lurk long enough, they will learn something. As far as disrupting goes, they can only disrupt if we let them. As far as a great "unveiling", Smirk is not going to win, so instead of an unveiling, they will most likely just drift.........away.

16. This movie has a first name; it's O-S-C-A-R.
This movie has a second name; it's F-U G-O-P.

:)

I wonder what the speech will be this year. It's hard to top "Shame on Bush."
