I saw F9/11 here in Bush country today!
The theatres are selling out. The first showing this morning was only about 1/4 full, but it was early and an out of the way theatre. The line for the next showing was out the door. This is Bush country, mind you!

My comment on the movie? Oh.......my........God.

It was life altering for me. I will never view politics or our leaders in the same way. And the media....same thing.

I laughed. I cried. I tried to hide my feelings, since I was with a small group. But I couldn't help it. A sob broke out at one point.

It is a must see for all, no matter their politics. Bush supporters ought to be made to see it, even if they have to be strapped into their seats. It's not a balanced view. Moore makes no bones about the fact that this is his view. But the facts are accurate, as far as I can tell, and it is a work of art, to boot. The music is appropro and great.

I've never seen anything like it. On the big screen, it makes a huge impact. I loved it!

2. Where are you? I am going tomorrow in Fort Worth.
Bought my tickets online, because I didn't want to take any chances. I will have to drive about 50 miles, but its worth it to me.

4. I saw it in Plano Texas last night
to huge sold-out crowds. They were showing it in two auditoriums for each showing. All their shows today sold out.

It was amazing, I totally agree.

14. I'm in Dallas. It's amazing. Sometimes I feel there're only Repubs
around here. I was amazed at how many people were there. It was exciting. An event.

19. Saw it at the same place this afternoon. My crowd and the one afterwards
looked pretty much sold out. Applause but no standing O.

Side note I think the Angelika downtown is set up much better as far as the bar etc.

6. I wouldn't agree with one point...
"It's not a balanced view."

Actually Moore is critical of Daschle (Democrats) you had to pay attention carefully. He made them look impotent in the beginning and accused them for going along with the Repugs for the war.... He just spends less time on them. And Moore also mentioned in an interview that he was criticizing both parties....

10. I saw the Movie too...
Hi,

I'm new to the board, and kind of new to the whole issue. My hubby is the one who opened up my eyes, and this movie are going to keep them open. I have one point to bring up about this whole movie. It was like more of an Epiphany. Republicans are shouting to the high heavens, that this movie is "a pack of lies" and this movie "is not fair." If you really think about what they're saying, cause one thing usually means another in their world, they're absolutely right. (Hear me out! LOL)

It is a pack of THEIR lies put together in a nice, neat little package for everyone to see and they're absolutely embarrassed, and it's not fair to them that WE CAUGHT EM! I guess if I lied like that and people called me on it I'd lash out like a scared little animal in the beginning too crying about how unfair it was -- but of course I am not responsible for the deaths of thousands upon thousands of people! Of course, everyone here knows this. I think it's funny that they're saying this. They're right. They lied, and someone put all the PRE-RECORDED clips of them saying one thing, followed by another PRE-RECORDED clip of them saying the opposite. Why are they blaming Michael Moore?

In the WONDERFULLY CHILDISH words of the lady at the White House that said "Blame Al-Quida" to the woman who was weeping in the court yard about her son's death (how EVIL btw) -- note ONLY after she was torn down by that mother's remarks of the day and place where her child died, because she was on some type of "scam police mission;" I say blame CNN, Fox (or Faux) News and all the other news stations that aired you saying your lies for Mr.Moore to put together in the first place! Blame the secretaries that typed up the documents and used the marker to suspiciously black out certain sections of the text. Blame the post office that sent Michael Moore the previous copy, and Oh, don't forget to Blame the mail clerk that put it in the envelope and addressed it to him!

Hrmmm...who else can you blame... God for free will and putting eyes and brains in certain people that can't be brainwashed? Cause it CERTAINLY cannot be yourselves, I mean, oh wait... blame the speech writers for writing those lies for you to speak about... Now after all that (unless I forgot some people) then MAYBE you can blame yourselves... RIGHT?

Now that we got most of the finger pointing out of the way, it's time for a spanking. Let's not let G.W. get his pudding next year? He won't know how to eat it, since "most of our imports come from other countries."

Take Care,

Pooh :)

16. Yes. I didn't know about the representatives objecting, actually.
Or if I did, it was covered only briefly on TV and I didn't give it much thought.

But that was a pretty powerful point he made with that section.

15. True. True. I was glad to see the criticism of both parties.
By "not balanced view," I meant he didn't include the usual administration "explanations" for things, such as we see on TV daily.

But yes, he was critical of both parties...and rightly so.

Not everyone is perfect, as some would like to believe. Everyone has their faults. But the people who realize their faults, and step down are the bigger people. Not that people stepping down happens every day, or in this case ever. Guess that goes for both sides. That's why the people (in this case US) are saying step down! You're messing things up, and we see you doing it, therefore we want someone else. If Moore didn't criticize both parties, the movie would of been a bigger label of "propaganda" than it is now. He knew exactly what he was doing. All I'm waiting for is the administration to sit down and tackle everyone's concerns in a professional matter without whining about it. hah!

BTW, thank you for the hearty welcome! I didn't mean to take away from Texas' post, but I can't create my own thread yet! :)
