Gore speech, Rainbow/Push convention.....C-Span not covering?
I have not seen anything, and I see nothing at the C-Span site. If they do not cover this events with about our Democratic leaders, then I think something is very wrong.

Here is the link for all the leaders at the Rainbow convention;

They have carried this previous years on C-Span.

Gore's speech should be carried because of his standing in our country.

Maybe I am just missing something?

3. They used to do things like that live in segments.
I also noticed they did not ever carry the NAB, the broadcasters' association convention. I know I have seen that before as well. It had some prominent people as well.

However, I do notice that Wolfowitz and his buddies get a lot of air time there. They are under pressure from the right wing groups who are monitoring them, several senators on a committee. Same thing is happening at PBS.

5. I Disagree
I don't think C-Span is there to add any journalism at all. I just want them to turn the camera on and walk away.

I am wondering why we havn't seen the Gore speach yet though. I've been looking non stop. I can not make heads or tales out of that thing they call a schedule on their website tough.

6. C-Span should not be journalistic.....was talking of media in general.
If you check out the schedules at C-Span lately, the preponderance of programs are not Democratic in nature. I may be wrong about some of them, as I have just quit watching. However, I can think of several events like the Gore speech that for sure would have covered before.

Also the NAB yearly event. I did not keep the link, but I know I have seen it on before.

Here is the link, I found it. Good bunch of speakers. Not a word on C-Span.
http://www.nabef.org/Service%20to%20America/default.asp

C-Span is dealing with a threat of "must-carry", the details are available at the site. A committee in congress, made up of Republicans only, is monitoring PBS to be sure they are "fair."

So if C-Span does not carry the Gore speech or the Rainbow convention, then something is wrong.

7. republicans are propagandists at heart.. and the know how to "work" it
It's almost more important to have the "other side" NOT covered, as it is to have YOUR side covered..

C-span is almost unwatchabled these days.. Between the Heritage and AEI shindigs that are ALWAYS covered, and the preponderance of rightwingers on their "panel" discussions, it's too tedious..

Washington Journal used to be fairly even handed, but in the last few years it's become nauseating..

They will have a 45 minute segment with a frothing-at-the-mpouth right winger...all alone....and then MAYBE the remaining segments will have something totally innocuous and (uninteresting)..

There is no balance at all.. I love how they also have "serious discussions" ablout the democratic candidates or pollicies, but they can never seem to be able to find anyone to voice a positive opinion./.There are usually republicans or wishy-washy "independents" invited to "tell us what's wrong with the dems"..

They had no trouble at all during the clinton years...no trouble at all... daily feeding frenzies attacking him for everything.. I hve almost given up ..

8. How do you make the the other side insignificant? Just ignore them.
If you own the media, that is easy. It will take a long time to ever gain back any modicum of legitimacy in our television media. I just stopped watching C-Span and PBS lately. If NOW with Moyers has something on controversial, then the local station airs another segment. He is going to half an hour, and Tucker Carlson is going to have a show.

9. Here is the C-Span schedule for today.
It makes my point on a lot of things. James Dobson, Dick Morris, Bob Barr, Orrin Hatch, AEI, David Brooks, Wolfowitz, John Warner, and a few others. They definitely have the most air time.
