Both prior to and after viewing F911 last night (Sacramento, Tower Theatre, I was pleased (along with many others) to distribute the following information to those who had come to experience F911, and I think this is a great spot to announce the following again.

2. Question about the Saudis

Just saw the film and yes, loved, loved, loved it and am now wondering about what Moore said and what the FBI is now saying. Moore talks about how the Saudis and the Bin Ladins were whisked out of the country on 9/13/01 and the FBI is saying everyone who left the country was fully vetted before they left.

My understanding is that small planes picked up these folks in their local markets and then took them to major airport hubs. I'm assuming the vetting happened at the hub airports. I'm also assuming the big vetting while domestic air space was closed was looking at and stamping passports.

Does anyone know what actually happened during this "vetting" process?

3. They took advantage of the mass chaos

You can bet your last dollar that after what Clarke said, there was NO way they could have been properly vetted.. Everyone just kind of did a "whatever" and then signed off.. They passed the buck and in the confusion, the people were allowed to leave.. No doubt, our govt thought that they "knew" these people and could get a hold of them later if necessary, but if you are a lowly fbi guy in Kentucky, and some people have DC "passes", just how thoroughly would you/could you qiestion them??

Think back to the way things were for those first few days... CHAOS and confusion..That was precisely WHY they wanted to leave ...before things calmed down, and tough questions were aimed their way..

4. Moore made a great point though

which was that the first people you talk to after a crime are the family. And he also includes an interview with someone talking about Bin Ladin family members going to Osmama's son's wedding in Afghanistan . The point was that Osama was not as disowned as the Saudi government and the Bin Ladin family contend.

Which makes that family a perfect group to talk to after 9/11.

As an aside, I'm in New York and was, and remain, fantastically heart-affected by the chaos of that day. :)
