Why the fuck does Canada need a air craft carrier, Harper sez it's for helping our allies (read Bush). Actually he wants two of them.

15. Yipes, Swede..how did this happen up there?
What do you think has taken place to cause so many conservatives to come on so strongly? I'm really scared for you too, and for us here.

I admit I don't watch Canadian politics much but I thought most of you were watching us and saying 'Not in Canada' or some such thing. I thought your government hated the way we were doing business. What's going on?

If Canada falls to rw conservatism...WHAT'S NEXT?

seems. Did someone suggest you needed a Michael Moore Canadian style?

I hope it works out better for you good folks. I've always thought of Canada as a peaceful refuge and a beautiful beautiful country. I hate to think what will become of you if the greed monsters get hold of the reins. Much good luck to all of you.........

how Germany annexed Austria in the period before WWII.

Now the US is Germany and Canada will be like Austria.

25. Clairification
It's not an aircraft carrier like the Enterprise.

It's primarily a troop carrier that will have a flight deck for helicopters.

Canada was embarassed a few years ago because it had to rent ships to move its troops to Desert Storm.

12. It scares me also
I keep watching the press on the Canadian election and it is so hard to believe. I really thought Candadians wouldn't be taken in by this stuff as the materialist American masses have been.

I still keep hope alive that the polls are wrong and you tell the corporatists they are not wanted.

Here's hope the election will end in the correct way.

On edit I won't be surprised if Calgary is one because of things like our dealings with oil, and we're fairly pro American.

35. Even if it happens...
the Conservatives don't have the numbers for a majority government. A Conservative minority government would either be completly powerless to change anything, or would fall within a year. Or maybe both.

Paul Martin and the liberals could concievably lose the election and still form the government - as a coalition with the NDP. Canadians don't elect a government, Canadians elect a parliament, and parliament chooses the government.

Right now, polls are showing that nobody has the support to win a majority governement. It will either be a Liberal or Conservative minority.

Sid
