1. Different film...on a different level...
Word of mouth will bring more and more people to F 9/11

Spiderman 2 has it's audience and will be a smash no matter what.

Get out there and tell people to SEE Farenheit 9/11!!!

2. Just saying...
Media coverage drops at that point, more or less.

3. Maybe they'll show the F9/11 trailer before Spiderman.
And when Spidey sells out, they'll go see F9/11 instead? They're both about dastardly villains trying to take over the world!

Spider-Man 2 is being released by Sony Pictures.

5. F911 critical mass ...

After the screening tonight I glanced up and noticed someone in the projector room scanning the audience and writing on a clipboard. My guess is that she was "guestimating" the actual audience. I think the theatre chains are in on the "buy 9/11, see Shrek 2" racket.

There may be a danger that the film will be yanked from a lot of screens before more people see it.

8. The ever-popular Multiplex Rhumba.

Bill O'Reilly and our pals at Free Republic have been calling on conservatives who want to see F911 to go ahead and do so, but to buy a ticket for a different film and sneak in to F911 so they don't help the film's ticket sales numbers. I think lanparty may have mistyped above, since s/he stated it backwards.

9. I don't think it will make that much difference.
The movie is raking in the dough. Funny that Mr. O'Reilly says no one should see it, but he sure didn't mind going to the premiere. Fucking hypocrite.

12. Two scams ...

Yeah, it works both ways.

Freepers would buy Shrek tickets and see F911. Liberals who already saw F911 would buy F911 tickets and see Shrek 2 (or Dodge Ball or WHATEVER!!!)

They definitely checked tickets going in to make sure they were F911. I'm also convinced that the lady in the film booth was writing down how many people attended the screening.

I don't think it's insidious behavior on Kerasotes part. I think they're just trying to gauge interest for the film given that both groups have advocated playing games.

Most theatre chains are only playing the film at SOME of their theatres. If they're getting light viewing (as opposed to "fake" viewing) they would likely want to move the copy to another theatre.

7. Why would they yank it?
It seems to be making a lot of money. There certainly is an audience for it.

11. See the movie when you want.
If you see it BEFORE you see Spiderman II, you've done your part.
