One thing that has stuck with me after seeing F911, was a comment during the movie that was made by Moore.

I am gonna paraphrase. Every ex-president has a right to continue to receive daily CIA briefings. HW is the only ex-president that has done this and still does to this day.

on edit: my damn spelling

1. that's right...
this was something new I learned in the film...

I wonder if Bush Sr. was ever briefed on Osama's intentions inside the United States?

3. Well,
that would certainly be an interesting cross reference to him having breakfast with one of them that September morning, wouldn't it?

4. Okay, let me see if I have this straight-both
father and son Bushes get daily CIA briefings. So how come NEITHER of them know what the hell is going on? Wouldn't you think that between the two of them, they would have at least a hint of a clue?

6. not surprising
He was the Director of the CIA before he was VP under Reagan, so it's not too surprising that he'd avail himself of a right accorded ex-presidents. Being an ex-President gives him the right to receive the briefing, and being a former Director gives him a reason to be interested in what's occuring there.

That being said, I would definitely be worried if it were proven (or even alleged with solid evidence) that he used these briefings to help the Carlyle Group or the Saudis.

In short, I don't find the simple fact that he receives the briefings very worrisome. I do, however, worry about what he actually does with that information.

7. Inside information no one else except very, very few have.
I would definitely be worried if it were proven (or even alleged with solid evidence) that he used these briefings to help the Carlyle Group or the Saudis.

What other motive could there realistically be?

Why does an ex-president have the legal right to receive them?
