Not, at all, to diminish the horror of the holocaust. But, Hitler's first targets were the KPD (communists) and SPD (socialists) for arrest and the concentration camps.

They show Hitler praying, coming out of church, meeting with highly placed religious leaders of his day. Apparently, Hitler didn't practice the separation of church and state but sought to mix Christianity with his message of anti-semitism and national Aryan pride.
