We here in Michigan wish to thank Kate O'Connor, Jenny Lehner, Daren Barringer, our hosts Matt and Renee, the Host Committee (you know who you are), former Rep. Lana Pollack, and surprise guest, Rep. John Conyers, and, of course, Gov. Howard Dean for making today's events the success that they were. The house party was just about filled to capacity, and the Meet and Greet that followed, while not quite to Portsmouth standards, certainly was well attended considering that we had just 2 day's notice, and the blackout cut media hype to almost nil.
Thanks to those who traveled from Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Toledo, and all other points.
The Gov. was in great form, and we were also treated to some astoundingly supportive words from Rep. Conyers, one of the Leaders of Conscience in the U.S. House. He spoke especially well of Gov. Dean, and if I didn't know better, I'd say that, well, we'll see what happens in the coming weeks .....
It was a truly inspiring time. This thing is just getting bigger by the day.
Now let's take this all the way to Boston and beyond.

"Repeated from an earlier post elsewhere:
I just got back from meeting the governor in Ypsilanti, Michigan. 200+ people packed the backyard of the house, while across the street, Dean was picketed by people wearing "CSA" t-shirts holding signs charging Dean with wanting to "steal their tax cut" (!?!!).
It was a thrill meeting the governor. (I also got to meet Kate O'Conner.)
Dean delivered the stump speech to big cheers, and then introduced Michigan Congressman John Conyers (leading member of Black Congressional Caucus and a hero to everyone on the left in Michigan) who offered his unqualified praise for what he just heard. Conyers requested that a tape of the Dean speech for his own website.
An endorsement from Conyers would be HUGE. "
--btw, Dean's getting the attention of freepers who wanted to mess with the event. Now we know Dean's hit the big time.
