religiously insane Hannity & Miller open their mouths:

http://mediamatters.org/items/200406250001

Having joined numerous right-wing pundits in purporting to diagnose the psychiatric state of former Vice President Al Gore, FOX News Channel host Sean Hannity and CNBC host Dennis Miller apparently think they possess a far more rarified skill: divining the party affiliations of God and Jesus Christ. On June 23, responding to Hannity & Colmes guest Reverend Franklin Graham's comment "I don't think God is a Republican or a Democrat," Hannity quipped, "He's no Democrat, Reverend." That same day, on CNBC's Dennis Miller, show host and executive producer Miller replied to remarks by guest John Fugelsang about common misconceptions of Jesus Christ. Miller said, "And yet, I have it on good word that He far prefers Bush to Kerry." (Fugelsang will join former tennis star John McEnroe on the panel of the forthcoming nightly CNBC talk show McEnroe.)

Hannity's and Miller's remarks recall a January 2 pronouncement by Christian Coalition of America founder Reverend Pat Robertson: "I think George Bush is going to win in a walk. I really believe I'm hearing from the Lord it's going to be like a blowout election in 2004. It's shaping up that way. The Lord has just blessed him."

On the May 25 edition of Hannity & Colmes, Hannity asked a guest, "Can we pray for the reelection of George Bush?"

1. Nothing is more repulsive to me than . . .
. . . people who think they can put God in a box.

These people have never seriously read the Bible. They need to check out the Book of Job.

being like the Pharisees.

8. Read up on Strauss
these people use religion to fool the masses. They personally have no belief in anything spiritual except as a tool.

That God was put in a box seconds after he was invented to be put in the box.

3. It's funny, on January 3...
God was talking to me and said he can't believe Pat Robertson misunderstood their conversation.

He told me, bush couldn't walk his way out of a paper bag and that bush's mind was blown out from all the coke he did on September 10, 2001.

God also reminded me Robertson and Falwell have always been to literal for Him and He couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces come judgement day.

6. Pat Robertson is Correct
Edited on Tue Jun-29-04 12:06 PM by yellerpup
There will be a blowout in November (earthquake..take your pick). But, he got it wrong. It will be a blowout for Kerry!

A couple of years ago I walked in on a conversation my Repug parents were having with my young nieces and nephews. I knew they'd been talking about me, because when I came into the room, my niece says, "How come you don't want to go to Heaven, Auntie?" I said, "If that's where Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell will be, I don't think I'd fit in, do you?" She laughed and said, "No, I don't believe you would." Happy ending: she's a Democrat now that she can vote.

15. It just blows me away . . . .
. . . that people like Dennis Miller and Sean Hannity, neither of whom have a clue about God and His Will, would make such a statement. From what I've seen, and I shouldn't judge, Dennis Miller is an amoral opportunist who would do anything for a buck. But then, that is the PRIMARY REPUBLICAN ETHOS: SHOW ME THE MONEY !!!

God talked to me last night. He said, and I quote, "You've got to get those pigfuckers to stop saying everything they do is blessed by Me. It's gotten so bad I can't even show My face in Pergatory anymore without someone giving Me shit about that Robertson asshole."

19. Did you know...
That 31 percent of Protestant Evangelicals believe that the literal events described in Revelations (including magical rapture and many-headed beast) will come to pass IN THEIR LIFETIME???

Now who would have given them that idea? The Bible certainly doesn't.

Or wasn't it Pat Robertson who expressed doubts about the Miami-Dade votes in 2000, and spoke out later against the invasion of Iraq?

EDIT: It was Pat Buchanan, sorry.
