I would not mind being called back on AD. However, I would not be able to go to Iraq due to my age, and physical capabilaties. I sure could hold down a desk job in my old MOS.

Maybe Kerry could be recalled and made to complete his tour of combat duty. They need to give a years notice to get in shape before they call me back.

I would LLLOOOVVEEE to be called back up.
However, the Army has limited utility for a retired Field Artillery officer who was trained on M-109A3 and M-110A2 howitzers.
Shame, I would love the chance to serve my nation again. I put in the paperwork to ARPERCEN (or what ever the new permutation of the name is now).

In late 2001/early 2002, I was BEGGING the Navy to get me into Active Reserves.
"Too old," they said.
"Your loss," I replied.
End of story.

My man would luvvvv to be serving again. Unfortunately, (for him) or fortunately (for us) he's had a broken hip and also is too old and also is retired from A/D, so he's OUT.

Hi folks. Heres one for you. I retired in 1972 after putting in 30 active years. I AM subject to recall to active duty, (Regular Air Force) .and I would gladly give it a go, now that I am computer litterate.

Never was active duty but hubby was. That being said, I would love to sign up. As a previous poster stated, there must be SOMETHING this old lady can do ... even if it's just desk work to free up younger troops.

Let me try to put this straight. After I retired from Active Duty after 26 years, I was later placed in a status that I would be recalled to Active Duty in the future, if situations warranted the recall. I had what they called Hip Pocket Orders, that I kept in my nightstand. I knew exactly where I would go and what I would be doing. There are many Military Retirees out there that has the same type orders right now, they just have not been told to report. I no longer meet the age requirements to be recalled. I would go in a heartbeat if recalled.

Hubby says he would like to serve in some way if he gets the call from the Air Force. It's been over 40 years since he was on active duty though.

Again, this is a non-issue being trussed up as something big.

If you haven't noticed, #18, folks here don't have much issues with being called up. Matter of fact, a lot of folks here TRIED to get activated. So, the comment won't get the intended effect.
