Whatever happened to the WMD news?
Here's an interesting observation:

I'm counting two weeks since no news about Iraqi WMDs appear on the mainstream.

More disturbingly, tho, is that the count on those news in DU is also diminishing at an alarming rate.

So what's happened? Have we given up on the cause? Have we just thrown our arms up and said along with the media whores "This is of no interest to us"??

Basically I'm just sending out a reminder to all of us that nowadyas the world's hot topics are not necessarily the ones being covered in the media. I suggest we quit this Southerner flaming shit and get back to this reality.

Let's not allow our memory to become a slave of the news, for memory is our greatest ally and our only hope of defeating the Bush Junta. Allowing it to pass up is to declare the issue moot. We can't continue this silnce; silence is the voice of complicity (well, not really, but in the eyes of the average Joe, if there is no opposition, then there is no one challenging of the issue and no debate).

1. flashback: "We found the weapons of mass destruction."

--snip--

Q: But, still, those countries who didn't support the Iraqi Freedom operation use the same argument, weapons of mass destruction haven't been found. So what argument will you use now to justify this war?

THE PRESIDENT: We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories. You remember when Colin Powell stood up in front of the world, and he said, Iraq has got laboratories, mobile labs to build biological weapons. They're illegal. They're against the United Nations resolutions, and we've so far discovered two. And we'll find more weapons as time goes on. But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them.

It goes without saying that this is a big steaming pile of Bushit. The "biological laboratories" were sold to them by the British and produced hydrogen for weather balloons.

3. Well, exactly...
it seems to me that by letting the issue slip the American Left has just missed its greatest opportunity to publicly declare Bush a traitor, "get away with it" (meaning that the media whores will consider it a winner and this will ignore Bush's whining), and retake the Executive power.

So I ask myself: are we just stupid or has the lack of news allowed us to subconsciously forget about it? I'm being serious, as I notice that I myself forget issues when they're not mentioned often in the media unless I debate them frequently. Ex: Halliburton, Enron (OMG has everyone just about forgotten about this?), and a plethora of things which, if placed at the right opportunity, could just anger even the fundies.

2. The last I remember,
the Pentagon and David Kay said something about holding back news of their progress, and then making a big splash in the Fall. A bullshit excuse for the media to drop the subject. But we shouldn't.

4. The WMD will "explode" one way or another during
the run-up to the presidential election. Have no worries.

6. About the Presidential election run-ups,
if we allow it to take that long, we very just might find ourselves too late. Perhaps another event that turns Bush's popularity up occurs in the interim and then the Dems are screwed for good.

The reality is that by that moment most people will forget the important details that beat down even the best of conservative arguments. Truth is that Bush just CAN'T be allowed to go for a second term (for the sake of the entire world).

Perhaps we should start some sort of news archive to track down all the events that are important, lest we allow ourselves to forget those details that might lead to teh Big Cheese.

5. Down the Orwell Memory Hole -- 1984 style
The Emperor* made a hollow gesture "I take responsibility." which of course means as much as it does for anything else The Prince of Lies* says.

And still our boys are dying everyday, for that same cowardly Turd* who said "Bring it On" from the comfort of his Imperial Palace with his Praetorian Guard.

Bye bye, American Experiment. It was 225 fantastic years and I sure am going to miss you!
