make college affordable. something politicians never go after.

we need a good job market. Smirk isn't providing it.

sexual freedom. bash the repukes on "bedroom issues" all the time, as we're ultra-liberal on all them. bash anyone who supported sodomy laws. and no more riduculous drug laws too.

the draft is something that shouldn't be touched with a 10 foot pole.

Are there polls on this stuff?

In many cases, I don't think that young people care very much unless someone (like Bill Clinton) goes out of their way to make them care. They don't think these old people care about the same things they care about.

File sharing, cellphone/email spam, broadband/cable costs and access, jobs, college costs, healthcare, marijuana decrim(?)

Probably depends on what the young person is into, and how frequently they vote. The one's I know that vote most frequently are concerned with the standard progressive fare w/ a slight bent towards libertarian/socialist views. The ones I know that vote infrequently or not at all either don't know why they don't vote, or say they don't want to be informed and that they like being ignorant of 'those things' (I guess it makes life easier when everything just happens and you don't have to be responsible for deciding the future of your nation?). I think something like "Do you need healthcare? Do you know someone who needs healthcare? Get it free(1) by following these two easy steps - register to vote, then vote for me, I'll get *everyone* health insurance" would do well - most the young people I know that don't vote don't have insurance, could use it, would like it, but don't connect that desire to voting.

(1) substitute some dollar amount for free depending on the plan. like 5$ a month, full coverage, or $10, or whatever the candidate is proposing.

4. drug legalization

What about drug legalization? Isn't there going to be some point at which a majority of voters will have tried drugs? Are we there already, or will that be these young voters we're talking about? Or will they keep using them but being against decriminalization (it's more fun that way??)

because those of us coming out of public schools and looking at college have the phrase "getting screwed with my pants on" on our minds alot. it seems like no-one gives a damn about it.
