WOW. Bill O'Reilly STILL is fuming about Al Franken

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ideas_opinions/story/109845p-99223c.html
Calling Al Franken a satirist is a farce
Now Fox News is striking back by putting the demonizers on notice that they will be held responsible when they violate trademarks or launch defamatory personal attacks on Fox personnel
It is simply a sorry joke to see a political activist like Al Franken labeled a satirist by The New York Times. Attempting to smear and destroy the reputations of those with whom you politically disagree is not satire.

7. hmm....
sat·ire ( P ) Pronunciation Key (str)
n.

A literary work in which human vice or folly is attacked through irony, derision, or wit.
The branch of literature constituting such works. See Synonyms at caricature.
Irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity.

Does Mr. O'Reilly even know the meaning of the word satire? One of the greatest satirists in history, Voltaire, essentially wrote one of his books, Candide, to attack a rival philosopher, Liebnitz...

11. When does this case go to court?
Does O'Reilly realize that he will be exposed, again, as a lying liar for all the media to see? Didn't he write a book called something like "THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE Completely Ridiculous" - a title the last third of which seems inadvertently autobiographical.

in the movie Little Nicky except the part of him being blind. Both Franken and O'Really have books coming out. This sounds like one of those Tyson/Holyfield prefight pr shouting matches staged to promote ticket sales. Besides with FOX's main champion on the ropes, they may looking for a new challenger to go a few rounds.

30. My favorite part.
“The accusation that Fox is a conservative network is pure propaganda. Poll after poll has demonstrated that Fox's audience is across the board, ideologically and demographically. The latest survey taken by Mediamark Research finds that more ultraconservative viewers watch CNN than Fox.”

This point seems to try to argue that Fox isn’t conservative because many of its viewers aren't conservative, but it contradicts that very point when it says more ultraconservative viewers watch CNN then Fox. Are they also saying that CNN is ultraconservative? Even simple logic escapes these morans.

31. Ok, so...
"Attempting to smear and destroy the reputations of those with whom you politically disagree is not satire."

DUers, please cut and paste this phrase, and use it on your favourite RW media outlet the next time they bash Clinton, Michael Moore, or any other progressive.

The "satire" argument is what keeps Rush on the air, hiding behind the Constitution and arguing "satire" for his hate campaign. It's what O'Reilly and his crowd hide behind, too.

God, the hypocrisy!

40. Who puts his politics and his pocketbook where his mouth is?
Al Franken, that's who. Who will probably never work at Fox again? Al Franken, that's who. Who could have been silenced but refused to be by jackboots from a foreign owned news network? Al Franken, that's who? Who speaks for more Americans, Al Franken or Rupert Murdoch? Al Franken, that's who.

Fox can go to hell. Foreign owned businesses should not have more rights in this country than American citizens. If they don't like it, they can go back where they came from. If they choose to manufacture and slant the news, I am thankful there's an Al Franken to stand up and throw it in their faces. The politicians have become a joke. So, it falls to the satirists to get serious.

Go Al!

41. Mr. O'Reilly there is a simple solution to you problem.
Stop the lies. Stop the spin. Admit you are just a tad slanted to the right (see here).

AL Franken called you on a lie, and your response wasn't I did tell my veiwers that I had misspoke and called a Polk a Peabody. NO, you claimed that you never said that Inside Edition had won a Peabody. In the real world Billy that is a lie. All you had to do is say I made a mistake Inside Edition won a Polk, not a Peabody. But you lied and claimed you never said it. And you attacked the journalist who dared write that you aren't as truthful as you claim. Then when Al Frankens calls you on it on national TV you act as if that is all Franken has got, and I know he has much much more because a great number of your lies have been documented on the web (see here, or here, or here, or here, or here). Your response was "Shut up, you had your 45 minutes (actually 21, but we can let that slide as when you are embarassed like that time seems to go really slow), and you called Mr. Franken a "Idiot" and several other names and you made a reference to his ethnicity.

Yep Fair and Balanced. Perhaps Billy if you understood the difference between a lie and the truth this would be easier for you to comprehend. It would also be easier for you to deal with if you wheren't a thin-skinned bully who goes crying to mommy when things don't go your way. Basically if you don't want to be fodder for satire you should just stop giving those who would use it some much ammo to use against you.
