Scripps Howard poll has Bush approval at 52%.

The national poll of 1048 adults was taken in the two weeks ending August 12th, 2003.

I still maintain that by Wednesday (Aug. 20th), or at least in the first poll with polling done up to August 20th (may be reported a few days later), we will see the first Bush approval poll number below 50%.

While Scripps Howard is not one of the polls reported by http://pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm or http://www.pollkatz.homestead.com/ , it is nevertheless an indicator that Bush's approval continues to decline.

1. Deanies should take note:

Public confidence in America's military involvement in Iraq has eroded recently with 42 percent of U.S. adults now describing themselves as "not certain" that committing troops to war was the right thing to do.

This is like manna from heaven for Dean. If this attitude keeps up, his biggest weakness might turn into a strength. On the other hand, and this applies to the entirety of this article, the Bush people haven't even begun to crank up their $200 million machine yet.

All it takes is fear, terrorist attacks, and threats of more attacks. Stir in a couple wars here and there, in the name of freedom of course, and you have approval ratings about 50%

We know that all polls are Freeped these days...it's just a matter of degree.

Further, the Emperor* knows his approval rating doesn't matter because he doesn't need the vote of the people to get Re-Appointed, just enough to camoflauge the fraud and theft...which they will have.
