(Savannah, Georgia) The discredited founder of anti-abortion group Operation Rescue has found a new cause. Randall Terry is calling for the impeachment of the six Supreme Court justices who ruled in June to overturn the Texas sodomy law. (story)
Little has been heard of Terry since he left Operation Rescue, divorced his wife, and married his assistant. During the 1980s and 90s he was arrested more than 40 times demonstrating at abortion clinics.
In Savannah on the weekend Terry led a small group of demonstrators in a rally against same-sex marriage. He told the handful of people who showed up that the Supreme Court decision is an "affront to Christianity and an assault on decency", and opens the door to legalizing gay marriage.

"We pray for the redemption of the souls of these men and women who are trapped in this tragic lifestyle," Terry said during a group prayer. "We pray to stop the homosexual juggernaut."
About a dozen people stood listening to his speech. But, a mile away, gays held their own rally drawing about 100 people.
Terry, unperturbed about the small turnout said he is planning protests in 30 cities. But it is doubtful he will get any support from members of Operation Rescue.
The new leader of the anti-abortion group accused Terry of being little more than a publicity hound.
"He's no viable voice," the Rev. Flip Benham, national director of Operation Rescue/Operation Save America told the Savannah FOX television station. "What does he have to say about marriage, the one who divorced his own wife for a trophy wife? Randall Terry is an unrepentant sinner."
Nevertheless, Terry says he hopes to build a grassroots campaign to impeach the six judges. Only one Supreme Court justice in U.S. history has been impeached. And that happened nearly 200 years ago.
In 1805 the U.S. House voted to impeach Justice Samuel Chase, at the request of President Thomas Jefferson, on charges of bias and judicial misconduct. Chase succeeded in keeping his seat after a Senate trial.
Earlier this month Rev Jerry Falwell announced he was devoting all of his time to fight gay marriage
