1. In the 'burg?
OMG that is hilarious. The income gap there is incredible. Plus the fact that you are mostly either under 30 (W&M) or over 60. Right at the height of tourist season (mostly from NY NJ and PA).

2. Who's participating in this march?
I think it'll be great, Bushville tents and all! Too bad I'm way out here on the west coast and can't make it. :-(

'bushville'..it won't be beautiful designer tents...bring your plastic tarp/duct tape and join us...

5. badly, arrests, police threatened to take their children...please
help by reading here, circulating this, and signing the Poor-Peoples ballot from the AFL-CIO in opposition to the FTAA and vote to stop it in their people's referendum.

http://www.kwru.org/march/updates/16august2003.html

On the 16th, marchers held a press conference outside of Representative Hayes' office. Rep. Hayes, a republican from North Carolina, cast the deciding vote to give Bush fast-track authority to negotiate the FTAA (Free Trade Agreement of the Americas). This agreement, like NAFTA before it, will destroy millions of American jobs and allow for the exploitation of workers in the third world. The Poor People's Campaign is indicting him as a human rights violator for putting corporate profits over people.
