Try to catch "War Photography" C-span2 tonight
I'm watching it now, and will try to tape it when it's shown later. It's from a panel at a conference of the Asian American Journalists Assn. Some presentations are better than others--but all of them helped me to understand what was and is happening in Iraq. My favorite was Nel Cepeda from the San Diego Union Tribune, with his slides accompanied by some haunting music (Iraqi? or Kurdish?).

If they don't change the schedule, it's scheduled to be shown twice more, on C-Span2--at 11:55pm ET tonight and then again tommorow early at 6:58am ET. It lasts 1 hour and 48 minutes. You can check the schedule at:

A lot of these pictures would be weeded out from Newsweek and the NYT and the other places these photographers work at--the presentations are sort of personal, showing how they reacted to Iraq.

2. A lot--it started at 8 pm I think.
It's a little uneven--and you might not want to sit through all of it, but if you can do something else (shell peas?) while you watch, there are some quite moving images. (I think I'm going to have to write to Nel Cepeda to ask about that music, though. I don't think I'd ever before heard even a snippet of Iraqi music.)

Sorry I didn't get back to you in a timely fashion--but still there are the re-runs.
