So are we heading for a Clark-Dean fight for the nomination?
With all the attention the last few days between Gen. Clark and the continuing support for Howard Dean on DU--including two polls in the last two days where Clark and Dean have been virtually even in support on DU--do you think we are heading towards a battle of the outsiders for the nomination? Howard Dean, the candidate the DLC hates vs. Gen. Wes Clark, a man who is also attracting people from outside the usual mode.

What about the other candidates? Kerry, Kucinich, and Edwards supporters--where have you been? The poll from yesterday showed only 9-12% support on DU for Kerry and Kucinich--much lower than I would have thought given the level of support these two gentlemen had in other DU polls--or maybe they are just sick of the infighting and not participating?--not sure I can blame them.

I think if Clark gets in he will be very formidible and I think that we could see a primary battle focusing on the General and the Doctor. In the end only one man can win--but if history repeats itself and Dean and Clark are the last two men standing--we could end up with the best of both worlds--a Dean/Clark ticket or a Clark/Dean ticket. Such a combination would bring a lot of fervent support to the Democrats going into the 2004 elections.

1. Far, far too early to tell.
Was a point last time around on the otherside where folks thought Liddy had a decent chance - but that was early, early on. Dynamics charge up, wane down, move sideways. We are a long way from "showdown" time. Indeed even talking about that now might stoke problems here that need not exist. Which is a shame since it really, at this point in time (because it is so early) the question is academic.

2. Look
I like Clark okay, along with Dean, Kerry, Kucinich and Gephardt, but there is no need for your taunting post. For one thing, you're going way out on a limb and might find it snapping out from under you; and you're doing it by insulting other people.

Secondly, DU polls don't mean squat. You want to really see how Clark is doing in polls that can't be freeped? In South Carolina, as of last week, it's:

Joe Lieberman 14%
John Edwards 10%
Dick Gephardt 8%
John Kerry 6%
Howard Dean 5%
Al Sharpton 4%
Bob Graham 2%
Dennis Kucinich 1%
Carol Moseley Braun 1%
Wesley Clark 0%

And in New Hamshire (July) it's:

John Kerry 25%
Howard Dean 19%
Dick Gephardt 10%
Joe Lieberman 6%
John Edwards 2%
Wesley Clark 2%
Bob Graham 2%
Carol Moseley Braun 1%
Dennis Kucinich 1%
Al Sharpton 1%

3. you are over reacting
it wasn't taunting. I plainly questioned why Kerry and Kucinich aren't doing better since they have done much better on other DU polls.

Where was the insults towards any other candidate? by the way I'm not a Clark supporter.
