DU.com Has Been Invaded by Freepers !

They post negative headlines about democrats and liberals in the subject line, then
they pretend to be a liberal in the body of the postings. This is an old trick, I am surprised
the moderators don't stop it.

BTW, it is just not people from freerepublic.com doing this. They are coming here from
every right-wing group on the net.

I see it all the time on my message board, the only way to solve the problem is to delete
ALL negative postings about a democrat or a liberal. Especially if the subject line is negative.

I know that sounds radical, and it will piss a lot of people off, but there is no other way to
solve the problem. Unless you send a message to these nazis that ALL there crap will be
deleted, it will never end, and it will probably get worse.

You have to fight fire with fire, the freepers have figured out how to freep this board.

What the moderators need to do is delete ALL the postings with negative comments
about liberals in the subject line. They also need to read the posting and decide if it was
made by a freeper.

They will add a comment like this in the body of the posting:

"It has been reported that Democrats support communists"

Or something along those lines, they they add a second comment like, how could anyone
believe that, it is ridiculous.

I would bet the farm a freeper made that post. It's an old trick, make a negative comment about
a liberal, then claim it's ridiculous to even think it's true.

This is a freeper trick.

The moderators need to get tough, otherwise DU.com will continue to be flooded with
crap by right-wing nazis.

I had this exact same problem on my board, I solved it by deleting ALL postings that were
negative to democrats or liberals. Then once you get rid of the trash, you can go back to
the old rules. As losg as they know they can get away with it, they will never leave.

DU.com has become so popular all the right-wing nuts on the net are attacking us. They are
here now, I know of at least 3 or 4 different right-wing websites who send people here to
flood this board with crap, while pretending to be liberals.

They know they have to pretend to be a liberal or they get deleted instantly, so now
they flood the board with crap, and the moderators are letting them get away with it.

1. here....
have a cup of nice chamomile tea. Sit down.... want some honey for it? here ya go.....

Feeling ok? Good.

Sometimes, on a public discussion forum, people will post things you disagree with. That's a good thing, in the long run, because it might make you question your own basic assumptions. I know it's painful, but it's worthwhile.

Furthermore,we have these wonderful people called "moderators"... can ya say it? MOD-ER-A-TORS.... Excellent.... I knew ya could. Anyway, these exceptional people spend their precious time REMOVING the big, bad people who are REAL disruptors. They do, I'm sorry to say, allow people who disagree with you ona particular issue but are still Democrats, to stay.

If you can't get a moderator to remove one of these big bad people, then you could do something radical like not click on a link with a title that is likely to offend you.

Sorry for the condescension, but Jebus H. Chripe.... butch up a bit!

11. LOL! my friend, but
stewert does have a point. There does seem to be an "air" of an organized effort lately. I've noticed it myself, especially over a couple hour period the last 2 nights in a row.

just my unsolicited and not so humble opinion

2. Stewert, a lot of us know you are right
We've been here long enough to see the same thing you are seeing.

There is a concerted effort underway to destroy DU. I say we stand and fight for our community.

Keep the good posts on top. Drive the garbage to the archives!

5. I don't mean to sound thick here
but do you mean he's been banned? He did get under my skin a bit (OK, quite a bit) but I never saw him do anything I thought was over the line.

9. If you looked at all of the threads he started
and the bullshit arbitrary arguments he pulled outta his ass they seemed to fit a pattern of a conservative disrupter. Especially the CA recall threads

12. YES
check the rules you agreed to when you signed on. Republicans are NOT welcome here, and are banned.

For a little Republican debate they can go to freerepublic.com

You are saying republicans should be banned from this forum?
No, just identified so that everytime one logs on, the browser plays "A Flock of Seagull's Greatest Hits" for them.

What are we a bunch of group think cry-babies?
No quite. Extremely egotistical, sociopathic, welfare-queen, group-think cry-babies, yep.

16. A Freeper Is
a denizen of the www.freerepublic.com website.

That website is a haven for ultra-rightwing zealots.

Typically, freepers display the most negative and childish behavior imaginable toward all those deemed unacceptable - the poor, the disenfranchised, the downtrodden, minorities of all types, and anyone else deemed politically dispensable.

Spending time at freerepublic is not healthy and is not recommended for those wishing to maintain their perspective and sanity.

:wow:

people who post stupid things (this suggestion included) should have their points refuted, not disappeared.

14. Here's a little trick I use....
Whenever I see a post from someone that is clearly talking out the oriface that MOST of us sit upon, I either:

a) Roll my eyes and move on

or

b) glance at the title near said poster's name and look for the icon w/ the little sleepy guy. One click and *voila* I don't have to read drivel any more.

You know.... (and I'm saying this because I care about you) there are many decaffinated brands that are just as tasty as real coffee ;)

17. Excellent idea, needs to be exercised more often.
Problem makers will be problem makers until they are kicked off, but if I see someone making an ass of themselves or mocking a lively topic or thread; I just "ignore".

19. your idea has merit but
I think we should be a little more open-minded, in terms of letting some negativity get through. If I post a negative headline about the "Democrat" Lieberman, will I get tombstoned? The disruptors do have a way of rising like turds to the top; they're not smart/clever enough to maintain it indefinitely. let's let a negative accumulation or pattern be the rule on these posters who are merely questionable and not outright blatant.
