Is it really so bad?
Edited on Tue Aug-19-03 09:10 AM by Stone_Spirits
Personally, I think we are lucky to have such a diverse selection of candidates.
Many of them are stronger than I might have expected, let's say a year ago. And Bush is very much weaker than many of us might have expected. So why not count our blessings? I am happy to hear the policies and philosophies of the various candidates discussed here, because I want to know more about them. The term "bashing" gets very much abused here. What is more irksome to me is the heavy redundancy of threads which don't tell me anything, don't convey to me any solid information that I can use.

But, I really wanted to ask are there others who feel we are actually in a fortunate position to have a rather wide spectrum of candidates to consider? To me this means that more issues are put on the table for discussion.

I personally do not get bent out of shape or have my feelings hurt by the discussion here. My biggest problem as I mentioned, are repetitive threads with little substance that push threads with solid information and links out of the spotlight, but even this I can tolerate, because human nature is...well, human nature.

Bush is very weak, we have some very good candidates who could win, (***only of course, ONLY if we can watch like eagles over voting fraud!!***).

I think we are in a better position to oust the BFEE than most could have dared to imagine a year or so ago.
There just may be a light at the end of the tunnel. So keep talking and sharing, but perhaps we can come out of our despair a bit. We're doing OK.
peace,

1. Watched Sharpton in Iowa....great reception by voters there
He hit the Bushcos on every major point and used straigtforward messages with specific courses of actions. Too bad he has no chance. He makes more sense than most of the candidates and he is as informed as most of the others.

4. I agree
I am most appreciative of Kucinich's contribution. I'm supporting Dean. I'm really enjoying the C-SPAN road to the White House and debate coverage. This gets the Democratic viewpoint in the public eye. And of course the publicity Dean has been getting is just great!

5. I'm 'relatively' optimistic
-compared to a year ago anyway.

still, as far as the terrible mess the Dem pres. will inherit, Iraq, the state of the environment, etc. we're all in deep doo doo. :-(

6. Maybe its just me
But I want to vomit and punch someone (simultaneously) whenever I hear someone on FAUX news say "The NINE Democratic candidates" with that arrogant sneer in their voice.

8. And just the opposite in Illinois

Here in Illinois Democrats have flocked to the Senatorial primary in large numbers. Nobody thought this was because there was no strong Democratic candidate. They did it because the Republican incumbent didn't have a chance (he, in fact, eventually concluded they were correct and decided not to run for re-election as his party's only chance of retaining this seat).

What makes the Presidential election different?
