If Clark doesn't run, then who will the Clarkites vote for?

I gave this a lot of thought, and I like Howard Dean more and more. Plus, he's not that much different than Clark on the issues. What say you?

1. I think it will be a split...

Between Kerry, Dean, and Edwards. Probably about in that order. Clarkites like the man because of his sterling mililitary credentials and his willingness to be forthright.

Understand that Clarkites are pretty few and far between. It probably won't make much difference either way.

....any of the nine candidates can muster enough votes for a comfortable margin over Bush. I want to punish the Bushes by beating them soundly. I think Clark can do that.

8. The earliest I could vote is next year...say Iowa caucus, or NH.

Around then, I'd judge electability based on the interim campaigning, and polls, and decide who should advance based on probability of ousting bushwa. The Prize.

I now cannot imagine Edwards catching much more than present fire, and wish he were showing better. Maybe VP someday. Don't jiggle that senate seat.

With Kerry there is much to admire for sure, any vet gets 5 points with me; but there's that stupid war vote calculation (as I see it), there's some foot-in-mouth (?), and mainly there's running from a Senate seat, which hasn't panned out since JFK. Something about The Club, I guess, and today's party composition is not 1960's. I would have Dukakis-fear.


Dean is looking good, and may maintain it 'til decision time. Certainly lights the fire, and I think our side needs a stance that is anti-badunnecessary-war in Iraq, but pro-necessary-war, i.e., war against al queda in Afghanistan et al. Dean should attack more on how we need to do it right, repair aWol's damage. Afghanistan will soon be close to what it was when the chimp took his stolen office. We'll be contracting warlords to blow up Buddhist monuments, paying with opium futures.

Any of these three, or the other six, gets my vote and envelope licking come the general, like almost everyone here. Personally, I could probably persuade more undecided votes to Dean than the other 8.

But with Clark, I believe there is a much, much better probability of gaining votes while not losing much dem base. I'm talking House and Senate chance, with the right conditions. We've got some Repug erosion to look forward to. HehHeh. And I'm almost certain Clark will run. In a couple of months, we'll have a clearer view.
