Georgia Governor's office reiterates investigation demand
Edited on Wed Aug-20-03 05:57 PM by DEMActivist
Even so, a spokesmen for Gov. Sonny Perdue said Wednesday that Georgias $54 million voting machine system should be investigated to make sure it is as secure as possible.

This is a cornerstone of Democracy, Perdue spokesman Dan McLagan said of the voting system. If there are any allegations of vulnerability of the system, they should be looked at.

McLagan said questions about the studys conclusions based on Rubins admission should be considered, but the study cant be ignored outright.

A respected institution says there may be some vulnerabilities with the system, he said. Are we supposed to ignore that? Its too serious an issue to ignore..

Of course, he's only trying to remove his likely opponent in 2006, but do we care why he's attacking Cathy Cox???? NO, NO, NO we do not.

1. PLEASE attack Cathy Cox
until she GETS IT -- or rather, that the people of GA get it that she screwed the voters, big time.

2. No no please. Visit that article and see the strange tampering info
What? Huh? Georgia officials started working on tampering problems with GEMS last spring? Funny, all I saw was a press release about how they have total confidence in the system.

Now they are looking at (paying Dr. Brit Williams, of course) having tampering investigations done on the 22,000 touch screens?

Wait -- does this mean they are worried the machines MIGHT HAVE BEEN TAMPERED WITH during the 2002 general election?

This is simply a strange set of statements by Cathy Cox's spokesman Chris Riggall. (Pronounced "Rigg-all").

3. You mean this part, I presume....
In the spring, Kennesaw State University developed a program that helps the state ensure the computer servers in election offices in Georgias 159 counties have not been tampered with, he said. The state is looking to expand that program to Georgias 22,000 voting terminals, Riggall said.

So does this mean they knew or suspected that the county machines had been hacked in election 2002? Why the sudden need for this program? Who developed it? Who installed it and how? What does it specifically check for? Are the data files checked for tampering? What constitutes "tampering"?

5. Question: I remember discussion here about Cathy Cox and how she
Edited on Thu Aug-21-03 03:07 PM by KoKo01
hadn't been helpful to you Georgia DU'ers when you were trying to investigate the BBV in mid-terms. (At least I think I read that here)

Anyway, was your experience with Cox like the Florida voters experience with "supposedly Democratic" Theresa LaPore? From what I read Theresa switched parties somewhere along the way before she ended up being handed Palm Beach County to supervise for elections. (In my mind Theresa was an "operative" for the Repugs.

Is there any background on Cox? Was she one of those who switched parties recently also? And, why is she suddenly "ON" this when if I remember correctly she didn't go out of her way to help you before.
