CBS News: "It's clear this war is not over"
CBS just aired a segment about the total failure of Bush policy in Afghanistan and Iraq. It featured an interview with an Arab journalist claiming that "the invasion of Iraq was a gift to bin Laden." Also pointed out that (paraphrasing here) where US has responded with violence to certain regimes, the result has only been more violence and no democracy.

At this rate, I predict that come winter, Bush will be an object of open derision among the media outside Faux News.

1. But they'll spin in
It seems like the current spin is: "Wouldn't you rather have the war being fought in Iraq or Afghanistant rather than as WMDs in a major US city?"

It's total BS, but freeper-types eat it up.

13. That's exactly what they are saying but....
it is our troops that are "occupied" by the Iraq problem. We have all our resources in that one place and the terrorists are free to operate anywhere they wish now, including Iraq. Iraq did not have any terrorists under Saddam, best our intelligence shows. Now it is infested! Bush has increased terrorist, and terrorism, ten-fold with his arrogant stupidity. His ignorance will kill us all.

what the media will be like on the 2nd anniversary of 9-11. If this is any indication, they won't be singing *'s praises.

7. Why now?
Why weren't media outlets doing more to inform citizens and open up the debate BEFORE this shit got started? I seem to remember more on the sidelines cheerleading instead of asking tough questions and reporting the facts.

Sorry, this just continues to piss me off.

27. Im with ya Skittles..The news has betryed the trust of all americans
For some reason for eather greed or wussy-fyed fear of the Bush and bully GOP the people who are supposed to report the news and be the eyes and ears for america has become an embrarassing laughing stock to informed americans and most of all the rest of the news world..
II think it will be a very very long time before the words trust and news can be siad with honesty
really think that if this blows up we will see alot of reporters on the unemployment line as well..

14. Because the Bush administration has shown itself to be incompetent
Big Media and Big Money will go along with any adventurist foreign policy so long as the executive is successful.

It's quite clear, at this point, that the Bush administration aren't just stinking imperialist running dogs. They are INCOMPETENT stinking imperialist running dogs without even a workable plan. And THAT is not forgivable by Big Media/Big Money.

Whether they'll start backing another horse or not is another matter.

18. still doing it!
In a way....
saw 'law an order' (special victims unit) last night....the story was cops find lil murdered girl, locate bugger who killed her, he used porn from net esp. story that basically outlined how lil girl was murdered; ahem....the story was from website which 'encouraged' the reluctant pervert to kill the girl, so the cops charge website owner who uses US constitution as defense (free speech)...the defense lawyer even says 'if you shut down ('virtual' child porn) then you can outlaw antiwar protests too' etc UNLESS YOU CHANGE CONSTITUTION which makes star say 'maybe it's time!' or something like that...
The fascists demonize idea of civil rights and by inference the basic laws (habeous corpus, innocence until proven guilty, miranda, finders keepers etc that civilization founded on) and use very sophisticated psyche-op type techniques to do it.....

15. I think Fox will even turn on Bush
if things continue to get worse, or even if they do not get substantially better.
If this keeps up, the only support dumbya will have is the fundamentalists and the freepers.
Many real conservative GOPs have already turned to Dean, and no doubt some have gone to other campaigns as well.

He was caught in a hotel room with 3 hookers, 2 men, a pile of coke and a molested chicken..They would just call it libiral spin..Fox news is nothing more than the mouthpeice of a right wing loony who uses it for personal gain

16. Unfortunately.....
unless the media has a story about sex or a missing child, I starting to get the feeling they don't really care. Sex, murders, car chases seem to get the headlines, so investigative reporting takes the back seat. It's truly tragic.....

No spin.
No jive.

Just shaking his head and saying what is beyond being just obvious: we are in the middle of a quagmire of shit with no way out.

21. Mission Was Accomplished
You shouldn't blame bush for the Mission Accomplished thing. After all, when the bombing was done and the US flag was drapped over the statute of Saddam before it was pulled down, the US had control of the oil facilities and they had not been sabatoged. Remember, that just happend recently. Bush company really thought they had accomplished their mission, how were they to know that OPEC would't accept them?

22. Dear CBS and the rest of the news orginazations, Ya think?????
How come it seems that anything called Breaking news has been talked about here for weeks even months on end..And the worst part is they are getting paid to be the eyes and ears of america..But as we all know somehow the GOP and bush team has put earmuffs, blinders and a gag on the people whos job it is to invesagate and report..but we DUers are doing more than one half of anything called breaking news to america..
We knew the war was not over, We knew there were big time problems in iraq, Why do they just sit there and buy anything Bush tells them!?!?!?!?

Americans who can be spinned into believing Smirk is a hero EXACTLY BECAUSE OF THE INCREASED TERRORIST ATTACKS. They feel it is a battle and for some brain-damaged reason think he is leading the winning side.
