WASHINGTON (AP) -- The latest Democratic drive to make sure President Bush serves just one term takes a page from the effort to oust a Democratic governor in California, calling its web site "bushrecall" and garnering support through petitions.

A new committee called the Fair and Balanced PAC plans to launch its www.bushrecall.org Web site Thursday. The PAC's founders include Joe Lockhart, a press secretary to former President Clinton, and Mike Lux, a Democratic political consultant....

Hey, what a greeeeat idea--if the Repubs try and claim that to be the case in California, why can't we use MUCH MORE DEVASTATING EVIDENCE to claim a much more SOLID list of reasons to "Recall Dub" next year?

6. Signed it, also. It was mentioned on C-Span this morning.......should be

interesting to see how many folks visit it. I had no trouble logging on.....unfortunately......was hoping it would be swamped with folks. But, given the kind of callers C-Span had this a.m., I think only the Freeps were tuned it to hear it.

But, with Joe Lockhart as a founder it should have some credibility. Did they steal the idea from DU, though? I thought it was JanMchael and some others who were trying to get this going last week here. At least it's gotten started and I hope it goes somewhere.

9. Some problems I found....

I went to the site and there is NO mention of what they are going to do with the signed petitions -- are they going to be send to Washington or what?

Also, they have no downloadable version of the petition, which leaves out a huge section of the public who would like to sign but don't have access to a computer. But they DO have a downloadable donation form.

Is this really about presenting a petition to Bush or is this just a fundraising tool for a PAC and gathering info on folks to send future emails?

I signed the petition even with my questions about it, but I also sent them an email asking them to address my questions.

I'll keep folks here posted on what I find out.

8. The recall

there is something wrong with the so called democratic system of goverment when an elected official(govenor)can be recalled and the unelected official(president) can't be recalled.Democracy sleeps while the thieves rob the planet.
